So far, the only Easton Ellis book that has actually turned into a passable movie, and that's stretching it for me.
"There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman, some kind of abstraction, hut there is no real me, only an entity, something illusory, and though I can hide my cold gaze and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping you and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable: I simply am not there." Line gives me chills everytime. Love this movie.
Chuck Norris once gave Patrick Bateman a roundhouse kick to the face, and then made him pick up his laundry at the drycleaners.
In '87, Huey released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.
For those that didn't know Leonardo DiCaprio was going to be Patrick Bateman, but declined because his agent worried how this role would effect his image with the ladies. I'm glad the role ended up going to Christian Bale.
"Sabrina, don't just stare at it. Eat it" "Ed Gaines. Serial Killer Wisconsin 1950's. A part of me wants to take a girl out, get to know her and see what she's like. And the other part of me wants to know what her head would look like on a stick" "Do you know that i'm completely and utterly insane"
What do you do? Oh, murders and executions, mostly. Do you like it? What? Do you like it? See, I had a boyfriend who was in mergers and acquisitions, and he really didn't like it.
I'm glad too. Christian Bale is a better actor than Leonardo imo, and was perfect for this movie. I like him in general, 'cuz he really gets into the part he's playing (if you've ever seen machinist, you'd know what i'm talking about).
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked, in the head, by an iron boot? Of course you don't--no one does--that never happens
