Ian McKellen looks nothing like Magneto but he still did a good job. Give the Toph a chance. At least it's not Russell Crow or Tom Cruise or Orlando Bloom or some overused crap actor like that.
I get the feeling the idea for this movie is to make Venom a lot more similar to Spiderman. In the comics, he's like Spiderman on roids but I guess now they'll be evenly matched. The blonde is Gwen Stacey, played by Ron Howard's daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard. If you have ever seen her before, she's kind of a plain jane red head, somehow they've turned her into a curvy blonde. The magic of Hollywood is legendary.
I don't know. I think she's kinda cute as a redhead and she can certainly act(her performance saved The Village from being a complete disaster), but I don't like her in those photos. Isn't Gwen Stacy supposed to be a major hottie? She looks kinda ordinary there. Then again, Mary Jane is supposed to be hot, and Snaggletooth(aka Kirsten Dunst) is anything but.
I completely agree- MJ is supposed to be a supermodel. Kirsten Dunst is a 7 on her best day... Eddie Brock is supposed to be a big muscle-bound guy, but I see where they are going with Venom; they probably want him to be the anti-spidey and will have him having a similar build. Topher nails his facial expressions though. Nice.
Yeah, I gotta admit, outside of the physique, Topher looks like he may actually make for a good Venom. I am baffled.
Yeah, not to mention in the comics he's a reporter, not a photographer. Looks like they're going to make them rivals. Spidey/Venom have never really been two sides of the same coin, but that could be a very interesting take and make the eventual battle mean more than some revenge-bent psycho attacking him.
Very impressive job they've done with Topher. Incidentally, I always thought he could have made a good Peter Parker.
mckellen had a good run (from richard iii to gods & monsters) playing villians before making x-men. also casting someone opposite jean luc picard would have limited the choices even more because of age and the ol' shakespearian actor thing. Who's the blonde chubby? As that old saying goes "Would you **** her? I would."
She's not really chubby, she had a harness in most of those pictures so she could swing with Spider-man.
not so hot in the latter photos. if she's supposed to play gwen stacy maybe they should've used alicia witt instead.
Alicia Witt was reportedly in the running for Mary Jane when they were casting the first Spider-Man flick. Too bad they didn't go with her back then. As for Daughter of Opie as Gwen Stacy, she looks a little bit better in some of those other photos from the set. But could they possibly stuff her bra anymore?
