I hate starting these, but I am wondering how he's doing. Is there a chance that he'll play next year? If so, is he a starter or backup? Where is Bob Sura in all of this?
From what Ive read hes never felt better, and I think he can provide us a with a steady veteran presence and could play a role similar to GPs in Miami. One thing for sure we missed his rebounding and toughness
Hunh? In what parallel universe does this take place? I waste as much time as anyone reading up on NBA stuff; did I miss the part where Sura is actually fit to play? Because that would be news indeed. I'd rather use his contract in a trade (it expires after the upcoming season); there has been no indication that he can play again.
Sura missed 1/2 of the season his first year here and missed the entire season last year. I love Sura and his toughness, he was one of the main reasons for our short playoff run 2 seasons ago. But the guy is done, he is old and his knee isn't going to get any better. We can't go into next season depending on Sura, even if it's a role off the bench.
THIS man knowns what he is talking about and I agree with him. As the Rockets are about to go into a rebuilding mode [once again] they should use all assets at their disposal. Mutombo can also be used in the same way.
personally, i think he's done. he wouldn't be a wise choice to fill a roster spot due to his inability to stay healthy. bone on bone is not something you want to hear when you're talking about someones knees. sorry, first post for this n00b.
he was okay, lets keep this in perspective. however he was very good for this team who clearly lacked toughness before he got on the court. i liked, it was a good signing for this team. when you have a healthy mcgrady you can win with guys like bob, who no their role and is willing to do the little things.
Right before he started his career here, he was routinely putting up triple doubles in Atlanta. Before you say he was on a crappy team so it's a meaningless stat, what other player in the last several years from Atlanta put up those kind of numbers? And don't say there have been no good players on Atlanta during that time.
Bob Sura should come back for one more game next year against Dallas and slam Josh Howard again then retire. That'd be a cool way to go out.
One of the most memorable things about him. I love how players stick up for one another.. Steve Francis did the same for Yao.. when Amare was on him.
joe johnson. bob sura's career stats, 8 3 3. the 27 games in atl, 14-8-5 in 04. do some research first. it wasn't he put up a tripple double every few games, he had a few games of a tripple double streak, one in which he missed a shot on purpose or on the wrong goal to get a rebound. sura was a servicable nba player on a lot of bad teams.
