You also watched a lot on Channel 39 late at night. Both Bizarre and Benny Hill were on there, along with "Odd Couple" reruns.
Hahah. How can you say noone remembers Robotech? One of the most popular anime ever. Especially for us in our 30s.
You weren't that strange, or maybe I am saying that because I might have as weird myself. I do remembr Bizarre. It used to be a Showtime cable show, where Super Dave Osburne was first introduced, and had a weekly boob flash in some skit or another. I remember my folks would let me watch it occasionally. I loved Monty Python's Flying Circus as well. I remember being angry that people were making a big deal about the end of the MASH series, and that nobody made a big deal about the fact that Monty Python's Flying Circus wasn't on anymore.
Fun thread, but '72 for me is a blur other than McGovern going down in flames. I'll do some research and get back to this. The one thing I was probably still watching was the "Three Stooges Theater" on channel 39.
Hell yes on both of those. I think Monty Python was on MTV at the time I got into it (1985). I totally remember Bizarre from when it was on HBO or Showtime, I can't remember which. I'll add Bugs Bunny/Looney Tunes. I still miss Saturday morning cartoons the way they used to be. Now everything has to be freaking educational.
I think that if you combine this thread and the "how old are you" thread, we could find some surprises and also some surprises... ... if you didn't have a TV at 10, then more power to you, too...
I didn't really watch a lot of TV after school. That was the time to rage around the neighborhood with my BMX friends. The only after school show I remember was called Pinwheel. It was one of the first shows on Nickelodeon. Oh yeah, I watched Zoom on PBS too.
