3 pm today on ESPN2. DeRosario will play. Serioux is out with a broken toe. This is also the first game sans Brian Ching who is with the national team. The Fire is supposed to get Chris Armas back for the first time since last season, coming off an ACL injury that also kept him off the national team (totally fine with me...I've never been a fan). Should be a good game. I'll take Houston at home 2-0. Cerritos will get his first goal of the season... http://chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/3876321.html
I was there and it seemed like the Dynamo didn't have their heads in the game. Oh well, it was still a good crowd and a lot of fun.
The defense really fell asleep on the Chicago goal. And you can tell that we're really missing Ching, Moreno and Cerritos didn't do much when they got the ball and at times it seemed DeRo wasn't 100%. We haven't scored a goal since Ching left (the one goal last week was and own goal for Dallas). Hopefully they'll figure out how to play without him. We did have some good chances towards the end of the game, there was one flurry were we did everything but actually put the ball in the net.
Thiago's goal was top shelf individual talent, he's one of the best players in MLS. I thought we were the better team for the vast majority of the match, but we really miss a forward that could the ball in the back of the net. Davis had a few great crosses that I think Ching would have put away.
My first Dynamo game will be 06/03 - Saturday Los Angeles Galaxy 7:30pm It's the first Saturday I'll have off in like, over a year.
Watching the game, Dynamo just didn't have it in them. The first touch for both teams was terrible. If Rolfe gets a better first touch on a ball in the first half, he has an easy breakaway. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with the turf or not, but it was clearly infecting both teams. It just wasn't a very good game from either team. Thiago's goal was very nice. IMO, they need to rely on De Rosario more. There were plenty of times he was showing for the ball in the middle and they went away from him. Either he's your playmaker or he isn't. There is no middle ground. If he has the space in the middle, give him the freaking ball. To me, that was the biggest problem with Dynamo yesterday.
Moreno and Cerritos were awful. Cerritos didn't even show up it seems, and Moreno couldn't convert any of his opportunities. Hopefully they will give Nash a shot b/c if Moreno/Cerritos play another game like that our offense will go nowhere fast. Aside from that, it was a case of wasted opportunities and bad luck.
