Love them both dearly. Pac had more raw passion, but Big had a more unique, smooth as silk flow to his rhymes. They're both pretty equal in my eyes.

thats the problem. all his stuff he's put out since he's been "dead" has been trash. tupacs mom has ruined his legacy...

my vote goes for big. his rhymes were untouchable and his beats were better...

BIG knew what he was, and what he stood for. Pac was often confused, having grown up in Philly throwing up wEstside Cali-Love.. most ppl like to, or tend to forget that.

that said, both are lyrical geniuses

Most of his beats were samples. I'm not saying 2Pac's weren't but come on.

I think the fact that Pac was still considered on Biggie's level even though Biggie had the New York hype and the better production is a testament to just how good he was. Say what you say about where he came from, he put the west coast on the map.

tupac spoke with a passion and intensity that is rarely heard in music. that's why my vote goes for him. he made music that you really FELT, you could feel every little emotion that he was going through. he was simply amazing.

Tupac's lyrics were something you often paid attention to which is rare nowadays among commercialized hip hop artists. Biggie just sounded like he was gnawing on a burrito while he rapped. I never understood why both were ever considered equals - Tupac is far and away a better rapper.

I think it depends on what aspects of their rap you are comparing. I personally like Biggie's flow and lines better but what Tupac rapped about is far superior to 'Ni**** grab your di** if you like hip-hop' ;)

Although my favorite rap song of all-time is Juicy by Biggie, Tupac definitely had the best lyrics and was more meaningful as an artist. I agree with moes about th e NY backing.

    Super nintendo, sega genesis
When I was dead broke, man I couldnt picture this
50 inch screen, money green leather sofa
Got two rides, a limousine with a chauffeur
Phone bill about two gs flat
No need to worry, my accountant handles that
And my whole crew is loungin
Celebratin every day, no more public housin
Thinkin back on my one-room shack
Now my mom pimps a ac with minks on her back
And she loves to show me off, of course
Smiles every time my face is up in the source
We used to fuss when the landlord dissed us
No heat, wonder why christmas missed us
    Birthdays was the worst days
Now we sip champagne when we thirst-ay
Uh, damn right I like the life I live
cause I went from negative to positive
    And its all...
