Is anybody going to watch it? It's this Saturday, May 20. The fight is at Staples Center in Los Angeles and is for Berrera's WBC super featherweight title. It will be on HBO, not PPV, 9:30 pm houston time. Go to the official website, www.hbo.com/boxing, for the preview of Juarez-Berrera.

as much as i love my city, u have to recognize a very good boxer in Barrera. Rocky honestly doesnt stand a chance unless he somehow pulls a haymaker and sticks it perfectly and wins by KO. but he will NOT win against Barrera in a decision.

This fight was originally supposed to be in Houston, Reliant Center, but Barrera refused to fight here because the last time he fought in Texas he was decimated by Manny Pacquiao in San Antonio.

On a side not, about Oscar De La Hoya, Barrera's promotor, I have something to say. I'm not an Oscar hater, but his Golden Boy image is sickening. He had 3 children with 3 different women in 13 months out of wedlock, then married his wife while he was still engaged to Shanna Moakler. He doesn't talk to those kids and only supports them financially because the government requires that he does. Plus he is a bullsquirt promotor he puts Barrera vs. Mzonke Fana and Robbie Peden on PPV, are you kidding me. Not to mention he quietly settled his case of raping a 15 year old girl in Mexico. He is not a good person I just wanted to get that out there.

Here's something else I found, from his stripper baby mama, she wrote this in 2004 I believe, it's sad to read.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
His chance to get it right!

I am the mother to Oscars Son, Devon De La Hoya. My son asks to see his daddy every day... Oscar may or may not know about the time I took Devon to see his fight (Hopkins vs. De La Hoya) Devon was only five at the time. "Eric Gomez", a man on Oscar's payroll, (claims to be Oscar’s best friend) saw us standing in a waiting room with VIP Passes from the hotel. Still, without reasons Eric began screaming at security to “Get that kid out of here”! Now! This was from Oscar’s best friend.

I could not believe this man; I cannot believe anyone could attack any child as he did. I picked up my son; I tried to leave the area. Two other men then forced me out the back doors. One of them began dragging me to a lower gravel construction area. I was screaming for someone, anyone! Thank god, a driver from the Mirage heard me. He came walking from around the corner! The driver “an angel" Yelled at the man to let me go and he took Devon from the other one. He then put us in his car. Devon was crying uncontrollably. I did my best to remain calm for my son... This driver/angel took us back to Treasure Island. I called the police that night. No one showed to take the report. My son had been through enough. I left the next morning.

I will never take my child around those people. My son has drawings that clearly show the terror he experienced that night. I remember he did not utter a word for four days. Oscar has never asked to see his son. I have given up establish some kind of relationship between the two. Devon still asks to see his Daddy. I cannot understand the reasons for Oscar's choice to remain absent from his son's life. Not a card, not a call, not a birthday gift in Six years. I hope this time he gets it right. As for Devon, I will be his mom and his DAD! This little guy can hit a baseball like nothin you have ever seen! POW!!!

    ^^^^Bunch of BS

As for the fight, Im pulling for Rocky, but this is gonna be his biggest test of his career. Its hard to outbox a brawler, so he's gonna have to get out there with Barrera. When and if Barrera gets hurt, he will go into desperation mode(Rocky doesnt want that). Let's pray for Rocky guys.

Say what you want about De La Hoya. He kicked Mayorga's ass. I really hope he takes the deal to fight Mayweather. That could be an all time classic.

I think Juarez has a chance tonight. As long as doesn't get caught up in the spotlight and just goes out and boxes, he's got a real shot to win.

Man, think about all of those people in Vegas that threw away or torn up their tickets for picking Barrera to win the fight. And the people who picked a draw and cashed out BIG!!!

The change came almost an hour later as well, plenty of time to "cash in". Weird ending to a pretty good fight.
