    Sam said he was motivated that Vernon called him to lift his spirits up and give friendly advice to help win the game!!

    This is better than WORLD PEACE!!!

    i saw this as well and posted about it in the clippers thread

    it was a beautiful moment

    i think later on tonight espn will rebroadcast the game, but i dunno about espn rebroadcasting shootaround

    this reveals several things:

    1. Vernon is doing well
    2. Vernon is STILL LOYAL TO HIS TEAMMATES
    3. Who else would know how to beat the Phoenix Suns in the playoffs?

    I could care less if Gas is $100/gallon. This is the best news in a world of bad news.

    Lets find Ralph and Vernon some nice non-golding women!!

    you see how Vernon, who is down financially and personally in his life, still has the fire and heart to call his friend Sam, who is doing very well, to help give him encouragement and advice.

    VERNON MAXWELL is a true hero and the spirit of the Houston Rockets. This what true Loyalty is. 12 years ago, the bound will never be broken if a big asteroid hit the planet.

    bill walton was just talking about elton brand's performance and he said that we haven't seen anybody put up these kinds of numbers since hakeem olajuwon took apart david robinson....what a great night thus far

    this shows how strong the bonds of that team were. I believe, that team was the best team of all time.

    I've told this story millions of times here, but when I met Otis Thorpe and told how greatful I was for him and the Rockets winning the 1st championship, he was so happy. he shook my hand and posed for a pic, and smiled and laughed when I told him that he was way better NOW than JUWAN HOWARD!!

    there was so much pride , that it was glowing aura through the room. Otis won't go into the hall of fame, but I hope the Rockets organization recognizes him for his great loyalty.

    I keep on watching the Clippers, and I can't help but think that THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN US...

    We should have been the 6th seed... who would have gotten home court against Denver, and then gotten to take our shot against Phoenix.

    That being said... this is close to the 12 year anniversary of when Mad Max basically PIONEERED the trail to the promise land that is Clutch City, by scoring 31 points in the SECOND HALF of game 3 against Phoenix in 1994 (down 2-0, on the road).
