Anyone seen or in the process of watching this?

I have only seen 2 episodes so far.

The set up is that it is a reality show PBS style. They take a ranch and have a family run it, and cowboys to work it. The idea is that it is set in 1867. They can only use items and work in ways that were available to ranchers and cowboys in 1867.

All I can say after watching the first two episodes is I hate the wife in the Ranch family. She is hogging all the food to feed her selfish ass, and the cowboys are getting sick, and eating jerky and beens 3 meals a day.

Anyway it is a pretty interesting show if nobody has seen it yet.

I've watched a number of these "house" shows on pbs before and I was really looking forward to this one... but when they were hanging out hungry and then they show an antalope off in the horizon but there is no mention of the cowboys hunting for food because this is the pbs version and there are no guns available to the cowboys they kind of lost me. I didnt even tape and watch the last few episodes because of it but i may catch them just to see what happens.

I haven't seen that one yet. There was the one episode where Indians came and stole some horses or something. Nobody saw them, but I wondered what would have happened if someone had saw them, since there were no guns, or way to replicate what would have happened once guns were available.

It would be cool if they had period weapons to use. I guess it would also be dangerous though, especially for Mrs. Cook.

I've seen bits and pieces, I think I stopped after I saw all the flies buzzing everywhere because they had left some manure close to the house and the lazy ass women didn't clean up the dirty plates and utensils after a party or something.

I watched the whole run. I won't go any further w/regards to Mrs. Cooke other than to say. "You ain't seen nothin' yet!" I TiVo'ed everything, planning to watch it in increments, but ended up watching the last 4 hours in one marathon session.

The cooking aspect of it was very appealing to me. The Food Network has run some shows about chuckwagon cook-offs and I'm always been glued to them.

It IS interesting. If you're hooked at this point, I think you're going to enjoy the rest of it.

And as for not having period weapons, I know where y'all are coming from, but believe me, giving these people firearms would have been a ginormous mistake.
