My timing couldn't possibly be worse with this statement. But he needs to be an above-average defender, at least mentioned for an all nba defensive team before he is the best. Thats just me, many would argue that he more than makes up for it on the other end.
i agree. i never liked how he got the nickname shortly after he came into the nba. he hadn't done anything yet but already people were ridding his jock. even the cleveland mangement treat him like he's boss, hiring players he approved. i read this somewhere. i agree he's good and all, but he's not a champ yet to be having that much respect. i think wade is better. james is so good in cleveland partly due to him being the only child for the cavs.
Lebron is light years ahead of Wade and proving it against the Pistons. I'd like to see Wade lead this cav's squad to a 3-2 lead against the Pistons.
I agree LeBron is better than Wade. But don't forget how Wade carried the Heat in the first 2 rounds last year and when he got hurt they had no chance against Detroit. But LeBron's cast this year (especially without their supposed 2nd best player Larry Hughes) is inferior to Wade's Heat team last year so what LeBron is doing now is probably more difficult. But let's wait and see if the Cavs can close it out this Friday or Sunday. LeBron himself said last night's win means nothing if the Cavs lose the next 2. I like his perspective. If they pull it off, he is deserving of the credit and gets another stage to prove his greatness in the ECFs. LJ may indeed be the best player in the NBA at this moment at 21 years old and only 3 years in the league. Maybe not. Let's wait until the season is over before we put him up there on Mt. Rushmore. So far, all they've done is beat the Wizards and scare the Pistons.
I agree with you, but with current NBA's trend, I guess defense doesn't mean anything any more. If you can gamble for a couple of steals and spectacular blocks, you are a great defender. Mavs never stopped anyone, Spurs shot over 50% against them. Last night, Spurs even went for 60%+, a new playoff high, but the Mavs is still called "a great defensive team under the little general, which changed whole philosophy". With the current rule change, the game just changes to a layup drill, nobody will and can play any decent defense. That being said, with 21 years of age only, James' future looks very bright at this point. But to call him the best player in the league, it's a stretch. What about the Big Fundamental? I still like it as a big man game. I never liked Kobe's guts, but I still think Kobe is a better player at this stage. It's not bashing LBJ, just Kobe is at his prime, James is still developing, unless his real age is 25
Lebron is doing better and cauing more trouble to the Pistons in the playoffs than Kobe did even having Shaq be a suck for the defense. Lebron has a very strong argument for being the superior leader and team player to Kobe right now. I thought Lebron was slightly overrated and the Pistons would shut him down, not even close obviously.
Talent wise Kobe has teh advantage over Lebron, but clearly as a team leader Lebron has teh upper hand. He has rallied his team around him and made them a dominanat them. Something i dont agree with si when peopel say hes a great player. Hes just a young player with great potential when he starts playing D he will be a much better player. ALso he has a good supporting cast
