I know who you were talking about, it was the guy who kept the recruiting diary and kept talking about which schools ahd the best chicken wings and buffet tables, lol. Then it came out a few days after he signed with Miami that he had a long rap sheet.

    samfisher..

I think that is who I am talking about. Did that guy end up getting into college or was he not allowed to enroll? I can't remember the specifics.

I can't blame a coach if the player has no previous problems, but if he does have a long rap sheet then he has to be blamed in some ways. Part of the recruiting process and job of the coach should be to get an idea of character.

I think he also got arrested on one of his recruiting visits too but the news didn't come out till later. I think his schloarship may have been rescinded though. His name was like Willlie Williams or somethign.

EDIT, looks like he is stilll on the team:

wow, I did some looking too. He has been arrested like 11 times.

They say they didn't know when they first offered him, but maybe they should run background checks lol.. I don't think I'd let someone on the team with that big a rap sheet

Well he was a juvenile so I'm guessing the records should be sealed unless Florida has different requirements.

yeah, true. I think he was 19, but a lot of the stuff probably happened before 18.

Bringing up Tate Pittman I see. There's a difference though. He got kicked of the team and out of school for being a dumbass his first year. Taylor has been a dumbass for year(S) and should have been given the boot sooner. Only reason he was kept around is b/c he was a valuble part to the program...until he became unnecessary and wasn't worth the time and effort of mack and cronies.

Of course, Tate Pittman did it twice in two weeks. They (the team) let him slide after the first one only to let him traumatize another poor co-ed just two weeks later. You can read about that wonderful human being and the other class acts that have attended A&M in the last few years here.

Among those who were allowed to stay on the team:

    Stay classy, College Station!

An "alcohol education" course, in which you can get drunk and practice not being a racist? Where do I sign up?

He was the #1 high school player in the nation, to them it was worth the risk. Remember Cecil "The Diesel" Collins. Players with this much talent are worth the risk.

Regardless of this situation, Ramonce Taylor aka Ram Singh is still a first ballot Indo-Pak Basketball Hall of Famer.

I never heard of Tate doing it twice, all while I actually attended A&M at that time. It's funny, I had to hear about it from one source, a newspaper article from right next door in Salt Lake City, b/c they couldn't possibly be wrong about that. Regardless, I see what you are trying to do...Apples to Apples right? Wrong. It seems like there is a drug problem going on in Austin and b/c your players are coddled so much, they do dumb **** and can get away w/ it...unless their services are no longer required.

I bet u r naive enough to think that Wicky started smoking when he got to the NFL. Wicky the hippee has been making ganja tubes since back in cali. You know damn right Mack knew about it, but he wasn't about to kick off his heisman trophy and the catalyst to his success. Wicky now continues to be the pride of the longhorns w/ his mutiple failed drug tests. C-Bong, same ****, got caught w/ weed in Midland, but got off on a technicality...gotta love the sip lawyers. Was he intoxicated when he decided to bust in an apartment looking for his plasma t.v., the world may never know. Hardeman, got dismissed for drugs...not weed though, his preference was Cocaine. Then Ramonce the choir boy who likes to jump people b/f the rose bowl on 6th street and gets it dismissed b/c the victim is a football fan and who carries around 5 lbs of pot intent on selling it to kids.

I know A&M has had some dumbasses. Most recently Erik Mayes and Jorrie Adams got kicked off for mar1juana. I don't condone their **** any more than I condone tsip players acting like fools. It just so happens that one of your players was the most recent and therefore is gonna get dumped on. I'm sure you'll be counting down the hours when u can return the favor when an Aggie screws up.

By the way congrats on being a tshirt sip, u must be very proud.

It is a shame, but man, everyone seems to think these guys are perfect...They're human, they make mistakes, some bigger than others...It's a shame b/c he is talented, but a thug is a thug...

FYI...I see Willie all the time.

Nice guy actually, just hasn't shown what he can do because of injuries. He shouldn't have anymore problems; he even brought in his infant child to take your daughter to work day a few weeks back.

You are cleary a very angry individual. I'm sure there are trained professionals in the Bryan/College Station area that can "help you with that".

    Good luck, buddy.

There is so much shady business going on in college athletics only a fool would not know about it. You have to mess up pretty bad to get caught.

In Texas, both UT and A&M have serious issues with recruiting undesirables to play for their sports teams. I went to A&M and I have no problem whatsoever in admitting that we have a problem. I don't fault "sips" for this; I blame Tate Pittman and Hangartner and Jorrie Adams and the rest of the bunch. The year Hangartner had his episode, if A&M had one win for every player arrested, we would have been national champions. The problem is certainly not exclusive to UT, but it is a problem at UT just like it is at TAMU.
