I know its not totally Van Gundy's fault that we sucked or had so many injuries. I'm not blaming him for anything. I just think hes not the right coach for this team. IMO Larry Brown is the coach we should of hired 3 years ago. Now its being reported that Brown is getting bought out by the Knicks. Idiots! We should let VG go and sign Brown as fast as we can.

I think LB will go to Sac-Town. This explains why Adelman was fired. LB is the type of defensive coach the Maloofs would love. Last year, they pursued Phil as their top choice while Adelman was still under contract. This year they get the BIG NAME coach with Brown. If the buyout happens, I think Brown would be named the Kings coach within 2 weeks.

Sorry but quite the opposite is TRUE!!
Larry Brown would be just like Phil Jackson, unable to coach a developing team.
These coaches would be able to come in and copach in about three seasons when we have all the players in place to win a championship. They are well past ther grass roots type of coaching that the NEW YOUNG Rockets will need!!

I too,was in the "let's get Brown" camp, and now that he's available again,it's a no brainer.Despite the injuries,it's time to let JVG go_Our window is open now,so it wouldn't surprise me at all if Les does his thing and finally brings Larry into the fold...along with obtaining a PF in the draft and a SG via trade.

You are wrong sir. Yoa and TMac arent todays typical nba players. They are both are very coachable and would thrive under Brown.

Isn't Larry the same as JVG? Larry's not exactly loyal either...

Say no to Larry Brown. That guy is about as fickle as they come. We need a coach that will stick around with Yao and Tmac for five years and Brown is not that guy.

And what the hell is NY thinking? God they are a bad organization.

OMG, the easiest way to make money is to deal with Knicks. $50 mil for one year's work? Do they print money in the lockerroom or what?

Larry Brown is capable of coaching a developing team but he doesn't stay long in any one place. He is also somewhat controlling like JVG. Even an experienced team like the Pistons couldn't score with the freedom that they are now doing despite winning a championship.
He also chose not to come to Houston. JVG should get one more year with a new team.

Yes Larry Brown is a great coach... I think he's coached half the teams on the planet by now... maybe he'll go coach some Chinese teams next. Larry Brown may be a good coach, but I need somebody that can potentially hang around for a while. My guess is Larry would bolt as soon as TMac and/or Yao gets seriously injured or their games start going south.

Somewhat controlling? You have no idea. If you think JVG is too controlling and doesn't give the team enough "freedom", there will be none at all under the psycho LB. If you don't like the way JVG is too frank with the media about the team's shortcomings, LB will be much worse.

LB needs to disappear. Winning the championship with the Pistons is the worst thing that's happened to him. That pushed him over the edge and he's never stopped falling.

I really think Brown is overrated, look at what he did this year in New York, and how Flip Saunders has done with the identical starting lineup brown had last year?

I hope beyond all hopes that we do not get Larry Brown this year. I reluctantly could have seen the benefit when we had Steve Francis. Francis would have bought into Brown's teachings, unlike Starbury, and it could have been a good temporary situation.

I think if the Knicks can trade Marbury then NY is the right place for Larry Brown.

As is, I do not want that vagabond anywhere near the Houston Rockets.

Larry Brown is a great coach but I'm not sure if he would be that much of an upgrade over JVG. Brown didn't turn the Knicks around and the Pistons seem to be playing even better w/o him, Billups recently talked about how Brown was extremely strict on the team.

If we were to switch coaches (which I doubt we will), I would seriously look at Don Nelson (who supposedly is ready to coach again) and Adelman.
