look, I am no detective, but can anyone identify that glasses compared to any other black sun glasses from this video??? I think that glasses in JH's hand looked extactly like my $1 sun glasses from costco. so I got a better deal then.
wasn't there a big fuss with his last contract ie he became one of a very few players in the nba then to get a $100 million contract?
Forget sports! Think of the guys paying him that money. He should be a billionaire business entrepreneur.
There are some sappy, naive, and blind homer sheep on this post. This typical "holy`er than thou" idea that a fan has some unwritten moral code that he must adhere to in order to be a classy/true fan. I like watching players make great plays, and play a sport where there is a definite winner and loser. Its fun watching competition! But beyond that, which is pure entertainment in my case, not some religious calling, I don`t know any of these guys personally and vice-versa. I don`t owe them anything, and they don`t have to be some kind of role model for me to live my life by. Who cares if we are "unclassy & not true fans" whatever that means; you still haven`t said anything beyond...."you don`t like said behavior!" Yeah, and I don`t like lima beans either....so....what... Ultimately, you reduce the statement to subjective claims of "classy" and "true fan"...and to quote Regan...."one man`s terrorist is another man`s freedom fighter!" And these are for the most part good-natured jabs at Juwan, but we are just having a little fun at Juwan`s expense and the NBA garanteed contracts practice which negates real incentive for players to improve themselves throughout their careers. This is not the 1950`s, these guys don`t have summer jobs, its a business, and they don`t really give a rat`s ass about the fans. Come on....wake up...and if you are spending hours a day, praying for Juwan`s innocence....i would say...you need to doll out the money for the premium satelite package. He probably did "steal them", its just these guys...and any other celebrity get so many free stuff given to them every day tht this just seemed like more of the same to Juwan, it`s ironic but true, the people who least need handouts get the most....what a world Anyway, lighten up and laugh a little, Juwan will never have to work another day in his life regardless of what happens in this case. It doesn`t matter to the Rockets one way or another either. They have an incompetent GM who went to baylor....need i say more.....just jidding.....bear fans. The most pressing concern for the rocket`s needs to be in not screwing this pick up like they did with Eddie Griffen......as Jefferson looks like a guy I would want on my team right now! And if they pull another "what were you thinking by not taking bush, or get a third round pick/offensive linemen in return for the ist pick rights" shenanegan (sp) Yao should ask to be traded to the lakers, and really become "americanized!"
I agree with you, except that I'd rather have Tmac (healthy, mind you) and Jho than Stevie and Cato. Mobley makes it even, in my opinion... so it's a wash... but my point is, that's what it took to get Stevie out and Tmac in... so complaining about Jho's salary is not altogether fair.
Per Crazy Dave "I'd rather have Tmac (healthy, mind you) and Jho than Stevie and Cato. Mobley makes it even, in my opinion... so it's a wash... but my point is, that's what it took to get Stevie out and Tmac in... so complaining about Jho's salary is not altogether fair." Put that way - I completely agree. Getting a potentially healthy TMac coes outweigh the weak play of Juwan. My earlier response was aimed at Cato being a better power player inside than Juwan. Looking at Juwan's play last season against power forwards in the West made Juwan appear slow, weak on defense, and inconsistent. The money between Juwan now nad Cato when he played for us is less than one mil per season. Complaints about Cato money or Stro performance seem to pale in comparison to Juwan's weak play. I'm really happy with TMAc on our team- Juwan is part of the price we pay.
Steve is a bench player in NY. How would you feel if the Knicks fans celebrated Francis going to jail? In fact, by the logic of some posters here, getting rid of Francis' contract is more benefitial than getting rid of Howard's.
I'm not going to be dragged into another francis argument. when he does something like this we'll see. until then let the jokes continue.
I don't care how much money one makes. Paying $2000 for a pair of sunglasses is ridiculous. I support Juwan in this matter. Sunglasses this expensive deserve to be stolen regardless of income. Just don't get caught.
This thread is a real eye opener for me. I've been reading this forum a few years now and valued the opinions of its posters, but this thread leads me to think I've been making a mistake. Juwan isn't the best power forward, but I think he's done a decent job this year. Regardless of his on court performance, to wish that an "overpaid" player on your team goes to jail or worse to get out of a contract is just pitiful. If Juwan was a player of questionable character, I can almost understand it. But from what I've seen/heard of him during his entire career, he's always been a good person. I think Ryan Bowen is one of the worst basketball players in the history of the sport, but I wouldn't wish that he had a disabilitating lawn mower accident. I hope that if my boss thinks I'M overpaid, he wouldn't want me to get hit by a car just to get rid of me. Blah..
Wait a minute, so you are bashing fans for having fun in a thread, yet you are refusing to watch a video what shows that Juwan looks to be stealing something. Look if he is guilty, I hope the Rockets can use it to void his contract, if he is innocent, no big deal. People make mistakes, but as a fan, I want what is best for MY TEAM, and that would be having Juwan's contract off the books. DD
i cant take another crap season like last years. maybe juwan got sunglasses so people wont recognize him.
i was away on not able to get on the boards for a couple of days. i come home and find this story waiting for me. Outstanding! i thought this was another april fools day type prank. now that i know its not, im astounded. Juwan Howard , long known as one of the NBA's most community orientated players, stealing sunglasses. shoving a ball in mike james' big mouth one minute , flogging stuff the next. the past season has been tough on all of us, no question, but this is beyond bizarre behaviour from a guy like Howard. Where did that photo shot of the security camera tape appear from? did an american tv channel air that as a still shot or was it motion? are they a reliable source? if there's a full motion video available showing him walking out with the merchandise then it seems pretty damning.
This sounds a conspiracy to me. You know those guys (NBA players) are millionaires so that there's a lot of things from them people can take advantage of, i.e., money, publicity. And can someone provide the link of the tape? From those pictures I see no evidence except that evil look on JH's face.
Hahahaha, just coincidence, while I was reading your reply the 'Classic Moments' showed below quote: "I'd rather trade [Juwan Howard] for Vin Baker and a bottle of Rum! He is the most overrated player of ALL TIME. He makes Felipe Lopez live up to the hype." - tinman, 6/29/2004 No offence, man. But that made me laugh loud in the office.
