No doubt Pop will have answers for the Mavs in game 3. I agree it's going to be a knock out drag out 7 game series. The Spurs look like a team that should be in the ER instead of on the basketball court. They'll need some one to step up off the bench like Devin Harris did for the Mavs. I wish they'd trade Harris to the Rockets since he hardly plays for the Mavs. If Brown can win with Thomas as his GM than he's the greatest coach to ever live. Flip is a good coach that has added a more free flowing offense to the Pistons. His demeanor with his players kind of reminds me of Rudy T. It would be crushing to the Mavs to make it all the way to the finals just to lose to Detroit. That would be nice to see also.
If we're gonna judge the people that call the radio, then we have the absolute WORST football fans in the country, without a doubt. The people that call there are just clueless.
The Spurs radio call-in show after games is terrible, but I don't hold that against all Spurs fans. San Antonio is a small town with zero going for it except the Spurs. I almost feel sorry for people living there.
SA sucks. What a nasty dump of a city with a drain that they call a river. I hate both those teams but I would much rather see the Spurs lose because I am sick of a bunch of bandwagon spurs fans riding their high horses. Besides I think even if Dallas wins this series they are a better bet to lose to whoever comes out of the east. O yeah and Manu Ginobli is the most overrated player in the NBA. F**K the Spurs, Cowboys, Cubs.
Both their fans suck. But I've found SA fans to be the worst. You want to talk about fair weather in Houston...you haven't seen anything. Better still, if you so much as breathe the word 'Rockets' they get offensive as hell. Still bitter, it seems, from the embarrassment the Rockets gave them long ago. (Those that remember it anyway...like many have pointed out, they don't know much. I realized this when they were unable to see the difference between Olajuwon and Robinson) Time for the Spurs dynasty to end. So, I am forced to root for Dallas, if you could call it rooting. Then I'd rather see the Clippers take Dallas out.
I also agree. My second favorite team is whoever happens to be playing the Mav's that night. Spurs fans, in my opinion, are actually pretty good fans. Of course, you have your dumb ones, but most seem pretty knowledgeable, and, ****, they have nothing else to root for. Mav's fans, on the other hand, are the biggest group of bandwagonning losers in the league. I mean, seriously, who claimed to be a Mav's fan before Cuban took over? When they were the Texas doormat, no one gave a **** about them. Now, they've put together a couple 60 win seasons, and everyone and their mom claims to be a lifelong Mav's fan. Go Spurs(Even though I want them to lose to the Pistons or whoever eventually)!
I never really met any Spurs fans. So I don't hate them like some people here. Mavs fans were okay when I lived in Dallas. They weren't a big thing anyway. I hated the Cowboys (and their fans) much more than the Mavs. I am not in Dallas during the Cuban era. So I don't know. I have never really understood the state rivalry thinking. So I am kind of sympathetic with JuanValdes's sentiment, although I don't have any particular fond feelings toward either team. I am rooting for whoever wins in the Suns-Clippers series all the way. But if they get beat by Detroit in the Finals, I won't be too upset. So, Clippers, Suns, and Detroit, (in that order) are the teams I like to see success this year.
i was at baylor during the early to mid 90s. in all seriousness, they couldn't give away seats. i knew ONE GUY who would dare wear a mavs shirt or hat. it's very fashionable to be a mavs fan right now. dallas is prone to all things "fashionable."
I want spurs to win. I hate dirk I hate josh howard I hate jason terry I hate stackhouse I like devan harris I like dell harris I find avery johnson funny I like poppovich I like duncan I hate ginobili now (used to like him) I like tony parker I like robert horry I hate bruce bowen I hate michael finley (because of last year's playoffs) I like spurs quiet game. Not much taunting or in your face trash talk. I LOVE HOUSTON ROCKETS!! but since they aren't there right now. GO SPURS until you meet up with the clippers. Go MOBES Go ALIEN!
honestly...dirk got his first foul four seconds into the game and his second in the 3rd qtr. The refs did a horrible job last night!!!!!!
That game was horribly called, but c'mon, they got the arses kicked...I'm rooting for the spurs as Dallas sux...The city and the team...
i keep thinking along these lines but then i realize mavs fans are pretty much our b**** as long as they still have zero titles. you can't talk much smack with their track record. if they were ever to get one...i don't wanna think about it. on the other hand, i'm damn sick of duncan winning all the time and want SA to stop winning ASAP so i have to pull for the mavs and then hope they lose to detroit. which brings me to the next thing i'm sick of, rooting for detroit as the lesser of 2 (or 3) evils. they've already been to the finals twice and won once and none of their starters are old. they're practically going to represent the east for about 6 years in a row. it makes me sick to think about because i hate seeing any team but mine have that much success. the only reason i can tolerate them is they have no player with any sort of historical legacy to add on to. i'm never going to have to argue whether chauncey billups or hakeem olajuwon was better. or wallace or hakeem. or any of them. that happens with guys like shaq and duncan so i want them to win as few as possible. which means i'm stuck rooting for the pistons as the non-Texas team with no legendary player. they screwed it up last year (thanks for leaving horry open sheed) but did at least stop shaq the year before in the finals. granted, that year i kinda wanted to see the west keep slappiing the east around, but i'll take what i can get. the spurs main players aren't old either and neither are the mavs', so i guess i'm stuck rooting against the same teams over and over for the next 3 or 4 years. this sucks.
i agree with almost everything you said..... there we go....much better. (don't hate the cowboys because they have a fist full of rings and the texans have mario williams )
If I thought Dallas would win, I could see this line of thinking. I don't think they have any chance of beating the Pistons, so it's all good.
