    Got this from metal-sludge:

Vh1 METAL MONTH for MAY 2006

    40 Greatest Metal Songs
    premieres Monday-Thursday 5/1-5/4 at 11pm
Whether epic, political, scary or downright silly, these hard driving tunes have one thing in common: they’ll rock your friggin’ socks off! This two-hour special will bring you 40 of the very best hotel trashing hard rock anthems. The panel of hard rock scholars who rate these tracks include metal all-stars Lars Ulrich, Scott Ian, Jerry Cantrell, Ronnie James Dio and more.

Behind The Music: RATT and Behind The Music: Pantera
    premieres Thursday 5/11 (time TBA)
“Behind the Music” explores the rise and fall of this chart-topping group who helped shape the sound of 80s metal. The one-hour episode uncovers the demons that tore the band apart and the tragic final days of guitarist Robin Crosby. Behind the Music: Pantera uncovers the meteoric rise of this hard rocking band and the conflicts and extreme events that would eventually unravel them.

    SuperGroup #101
series premiere is Thursday, 5/18 at 10pm
VH1’s “SuperGroup:” Ted Nugent, Scott Ian, Sebastian Bach, Evan Seinfeld and Jason Bonham, are poised to re-conquer the rock world (and hopefully spread a little debauchery and black leather in the process) in the ultimate musical experiment. “SuperGroup” will bring together these five hard rocking icons and present them with the opportunity to create the heaviest ‘SuperGroup.’ Ultimately viewers will see whether or not the band will come together as hard rock’s saviors or simply implode.

    Heavy: The Story of Metal
    premieres Monday-Thursday 5/22-5/25 at 9pm
What Ken Burns did for jazz, VH1 does for heavy metal – only a lot louder. “Heavy: The Story of Metal,” traces the evolution of heavy metal music and culture, from its dark, grim beginnings in Birmingham, England to the worldwide force that it remains to this day. In a series of four themed hours, “Heavy,” explores four decades of music, each hour examining this powerful and often misunderstood genre, from metal's pioneers to its love of glam and excess; from the fight for metal's rebellious soul to its storied flirtation with the devil…

    ROCK HONORS
    premieres Wednesday, 5/31 from 9-11pm
VH1 debuts its firsts ever show that pays homage to the legends that influenced the sound of Rock with the first annual “VH1 Rock Honors.” “VH1 Rock Honors” will be taped in Las Vegas on Thursday May 25th. The 20-hour tribute will salute the groundbreaking bands of rock, the once in a lifetime events and the influential people who made a lasting mark on the history of hard rock. The influence of the honorees will be felt through spoken tributes, filmed packages, and performances. The honored legends of rock will perform themselves as well as duet with current artists on whom they’ve indelibly left their artistic imprint. Performers, presenters, and special guests will be announced as they are confirmed.

HE would make a rather pretty girl wouldnt he? ;)

I actually met him, Snake and one of the other guys(think it was DAve the guitarist) backstage at the show they did with Pantera at the AstroArena....all very cool and laidback guys. Try to seperate Bach from that annoying tv persona he adopts when a camera gets in his face, I found him friendly in person.

And a pretty underrated vocalist/frontman imo.

Needless to say...Im loving the hell outta this month on VH1...cant wait for the other specials posted above.

I won tickets to that Pantera/Skid Row show through KLOL. They came with backstage passes for the aftershow party. Sadly, I didn't use the backstage passes. Always wish I had.

A couple of years later I saw the Pantera video "Watch It Go" and I realized how wild the scene got after the shows. Looked like alot of fun.

That video, "Pantera 3: Watch it Go," is like my bible. I watch it on DVD all the time.

I guess they're supposed to premiere the Pantera "Behind the Music" on VH1 this month at some point.

    Geez, I'm an idiot.

2k, next time I'm in Houston we'll have to get together and watch the DVD (stoned). It's got some great stuff on there like Pantera and the Skids singing "Cold Gin" in full Kiss makeup. Mostly though, it chronicles untold backstage destruction and consumption of the kind Pantera was known for.

I never saw Skid Row but I got to catch Pantera twice before their demise. Most physical live sound I've ever heard.
