Fair enough. I agree that getting a player who can score and be big enough to defend is ideal. I guess I'm not as high on Maggette as you are...I'll reserve my judgement until I see the Clips go up against the Lakers (I assume they'll use Mobley and Maggette on Kobe). If I see Maggette demonstrate a level of restraint on offense and be able to harass Kobe with his size, I might be persuaded.

Another player that I think might fit your bill is Mo Pete, who I see with a better shooting touch, the size, and less of an ego than Maggette. I remember watching games when the Raptors still had Carter and Mo Pete was especially deadly from the outside, accepting the drive-and-dish passes from Carter.

I say we give up Wesley and Bowen for an even exchange for Gilbert Arenas

Ah, I agree with you there. And he's longer and a better defender. Put together a deal that Toronto would take though. Remember, they've got a new GM, a good GM, that we can't get over on anymore. BC is only going to do a deal that improves his team. And he has stated that he is looking to add vets not rookies.

Maggette does have durability issues which is a concern, but this is a 20 PPG scorer that made $6.7 M this year. To put things into perspective, we paid good old Spoon $6.3 this year just to enjoy retirement.

Well, I don't know how this works cap-wise, but take the Indiana Pacers for instance. To me, one player that seems lost in their rotation is Freddie Jones, a young athletic two who can score in different ways.

Now, the Rockets send over Swift to Indiana (a team that needs an athletic frontcourt player...sure needed one against the Nets; Pollard and Foster are big but slow). Indiana sends over Jones to the Raptors who ship Mo Pete to us. Again, players will be needed to be included to make the deal work, but those players mentioned above would be the main pieces.

The Raptors get a veteran swingman in Jones who needs the minutes that the Pacers are tossing to Granger. The Pacers get an athletic bigman who can play with Jermaine O'Neal and won't take away shots from their backcourt scorers. The Rockets get Mo Pete, a swingman who can defend and shoot the 3.

I'm not a capologist, and this deal probably won't work...but it's my best shot without having to do some hard core research.

You're gonna have to give Toronto something else. Mo Pete to Fred Jones is a downgrade for them.

How about the Pacers toss in Jamaal Tinsley into the deal? Anthony Johnson's performance in the playoff's might have made Tinsley obsolete in Indiana. The Raptors might lose Mike James to free agency, leaving them with no solid point guard (Calderon is not a surefire replacement), and getting Tinsley as insurance would be a good deal for them, I think.

Or, if the Pacers aren't willing to part with Tinsley, then they can toss in either Pollard or Foster (Players who received a DNP in these playoffs), giving the Raptors a legitimate center to pair with Bosh and Villanueva in the front coart. Araujo is a bust and Loren Woods is a skinny twig with no skills. At least with Pollard or Foster, you know what you're getting.

Trust me, the Pacers would happily part with Tinsley. He's not an asset. He's got a bloated contract, is hurt all the time, and now he's got attitude problems. Toronto does not want his salary laying on the books. Pollard is roster filler. So, Foster and Fred Jones for Mo Pete? Hmmm, I don't know. I'll sure take Mo Pete for Stro though.

I think its funny that a new story from the Clippers, states they want one of the top 3 picks in the coming draft for Corey.

The Brand trade was the steal of the century for the Clippers, But Corey for a top 3 would be the icing on the cake. No way Corey is worth that much. Not with health concerns....
