The simillarities in the mannerisms are obvious, like you say, so I'm also not sure why people are making a big deal about you pointing it out.

You'd think this is a Lakers forum or something.

He picked a good player to imitate.

But, you need to be original, copying someone's style, there's something that turns me off about that.

I hate Kobe as much as the next guy, but his imitation of Jordan doesn't really bother me. Unlike other posers, he actually comes close to Jordan's legacy and may one day even surpass him.

We would love it if Yao picked up more of Dream's mannerisms. We would cheer Yao for "acting like a winner" and "carrying on Dream's legacy." Why the double standard for Kobe?

Our entire culture worships winners and Jordan was the biggest winner of them all. Who can blame Kobe for wanting to be the best?

Exactly. It's sad to see a Rockets board infested by these Kobe-stans. You would think the guy has actually accomplished something as the leader of a team the way they try to sell him as the best now or the best since Jordan.

And it's common knowledge that Kobe had a video library of Jordan's interviews, games and such growing up and ripped Jordan's style. He's a straight up stalker and behavior like that is mad homo.

Oh and Kobe does not play vice gripping defense. That's nonsense. He's been average at best since Shaq left.

    So you're saying...

because I breath air, drink water and make mistakes while giving speeches...

I'm trying to be like George W. Bush?

Honestly, if a scrub acted the way Kobe did, noone would say he's trying to be like Mike. It just happens so that Kobe, who is someone in a position to challenge Mike, is acting this way

I've noticed this since a couple years ago when the media was talking about this.. how Kobe would imitate Jordan in every way. Not that it's a bad thing. It just doesn't seem right as a person to make a spotlight out of someone else, but then again it happens to all of us. We imitate those of whom we look up to. The SAD thing about this is, Kobe can even become better than Jordan, he should have others imitating him.. not him imitating another!

Personally, I find it a bit dumb when all these journalists do is compare people to the past.

    I mean come on :p

Gotta pay respect to the forerunners and all but, let's move forward =\

OK OK lets get a part of this settles once and for all.

Yes it is true that Kobe hasnt won anything without Shaq. And for some reason that makes Kobe hates extremely happy because they can use the
"He can lead a team by himself. Thats why he wont be like Jordan. Hes not good enough. blah blah blah..."

If you give Kobe the best swing man in the game, and the best rebounder/top defender in the game... aswell as some decent role players - and he STILL DOESNT win - THEN AND ONLY THEN, you Kobe haters have an argument.

(Yes that is a reference to scottie pippen and dennis rodman)

Oh, and Kobe averages 30+ PPG this year..... talk abuot copying Jordan. I mean he could have tried to average 40PPG but jordan never did that... so he had to keep it under 40, but above 30.
