My coworker used to work at a Post Office full time while in college. He said the people who work there were lazy and that the upper level people only promote their lazy friends. They also complain about the work load (even though they get almost every holiday off) and pay. That is why the price of stamps go up. I've heard from several other people that the Post office system is corrupt and flawed. Has anybody else heard anything like this?

Even at 42 cents, I think it is a cheap service. Someone comes to your house, picks up a letter and delivers it 1500 miles away, in usually 2 days.

With the exception of Christmas cards, I probably mail less than 50 items a year so this will cost me about $1.50 for my regular mail and $5 - $10 at Christmas time.
