I have to give lots of praise to Kobe for the way he's been playing this series. I knew all along that he could be the all-around terrific player he's showing us he can be in this series, my only question was as to whether or not he's willing to do it.

I think for the first time in his career, Kobe 'gets it'...now the rest of the league better watch out once the Lakers add another key component or two to this team (which they inevitably will).

Eh, you're right. I'll merge this now with the Lakers-Suns thread.

The Suns are playing some horrid Defense.
Odom is just sitting under the basket for easy dunks.

do the suns ever miss free throws? boris diaw just hit about 10 in a row in the 2nd quarter and none of them even touched the rim. it's like you don't even worry about a possible miss.

and that offensive foul on kobe was horrible. it looked like he barely pushed into bell, who then went flying ginobili style. for all the wrestling bell gets to do with kobe, that's some weak stuff to call.

oh, and tim thomas turning into a hall of famer might be the biggest surprise of this series.

well we're going to game 6. the lakers D hasn't bee nearly as good at guarding the 3's, they're turning it over like crazy, no one is hitting, and every 50/50 call is going to the suns. if the suns come out hitting in game 6 they'll win the series.

kobe has to do more. he may as well not be on the floor if they're going to run the offense through everyone else. people tout all the sharing but the lakers offensive efficiency is well down from the regular season, when kobe shot a lot. trusting the teammates pretty much looks like **** right now.

me thinks Kobe the Mambo is pacing himself now and will try to be a hero in the 4th. the Suns are not gonna win this game shooting 42% and 27% from 3, even though they are up 11 now.

what a joke the Matrix has become. 2 for 10 shooting? god knows why some idiots here think he's of any good. the guy has, and will always be, a regular season Dr. Evil and playoff mini-me. yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii...there he goes into oblivion.

If you're a Laker, I think it isn't so bad that the Phoenix Suns come away with a win, but more so that you've let the Phoenix Suns come away with a win while remembering what Phoenix Suns basketball is about.

Before Game 5, the Suns were uncharacteristically stumbling, missing shots, and not getting second chance opportunities, but now they've reestablished that zone and killer teamwork that made them such a tough team in the regular season.

does vujacic think throwing the ball off the basket support after you give nash another easy layup will somehow take the basket away? b/c he keeps doing it.

man if artest gets suspended for that little elbow to ginobili, then bell should definitely be gone for game 6.

i just don't understand. the lakers play almost perfect D for 4 games by not giving up the 3's and now it's almost like they're begging the suns to kill them with 3's. cook backing off nash for an easy 3. kwame backing off nash for a jumper. people actually helping out as nash drives on kobe to give marion a wide open 3. i don't understand how athletes are so brain dead sometimes. i mean kobe has nash contained and instead of letting him guard him, they give up a wide open 3. how does that possibly seem like a good idea? a team that hits 3's for momentum already up 13, hey lets give them an open 3. i'd hate to see them shoot a contested 2. they might miss.

    Oh my....

What is Raja Bell thinking? Flagrant 2 clothesline on Kobe. You've almost got the game in hand and you just lit a fire under Kobe.

Kobe just drained a 3 to make it a 10 pt game. That was just plain stupid by Bell. I still can't believe he did that.

I think this one's safely over.

I would love a seven game series in this sucker to give the Clips some more relative rest next round. Go Suns (gross, can't believe I just said that)

so bell pretty much has to be suspended for game 6, right? i mean if the artest elbow on ginobili gets it done, bell has to be gone. he even threw him down after the clothesline. basically completely premeditated and with malicious intent. plus you can't be taking out superstars.

If the league is fair, Bell will be gone in game 6.

If Raja somehow isn't suspended, then I would expect a clothesline in return by a scrub on the Lakers on Game 6. Imagine if Raja tried that stunt back in the 90's. Next game, JVG would unleash Charles Oakley.....

I doubt the league will suspend Raja Bell. Stu Jackson admitted the league suspend Artest for a game is mainly because of Artest's nasty reputation.

i remembered Kwame Brown elbowed Diaw in the game 3. He didnt get fined nor suspended.

I think Bell will be fined.
