There was a second Rockets team that "won it all" and did so without the crybaby brat who chose to indulge himself rather than help the team.

    ah andymoon,
good to see you. unfortunately your dream of having Vernon dissed on air will NEVER happen.

Kenny will ALWAYS give props to Vernon, which means the good guys win, and the bad guys lose.

for the millions watching Inside the NBA, they will associate VERNON MAXWELL as one of the 'monster' scorers that helped Kenny and the Rockets come back from 3-1.

    Kenny Smith. EMMY WINNER!

mad max threw dumbbell weights at payton in seattle when they were teammates, i think.

in his defense, i think the fan in portland was saying some stuff about his son that had tragically died or something.

Isn't it a shame that Vernon Maxwell wasn't playing in the series that we came back 3-1 from?? Ironically to your quote, it was Clyde playing with a high fever....

Yeah, he claimed that the fan was making fun of his stillborn child, but I think I ahve read somewhere that nobody who was there recalls that and it seems like Vmax may have fabricated that part.

I love Maxwell, but a site like wikipedia needs to tell the man's full story not just the highlights.

Is this a criticism of Mad Max? If anything, he should be applauded for this heroic action against GP's trash talking ass. If Dwayne Wade was a champion like Maxwell, he would've laid the smack down on GP for talking trash to him in Game 4 vs the Bulls a few days ago.

This thread is great and I too love Vernon Maxwell

I must be the only person on this site who watched INSIDE THE NBA with Ernie and Kenny and Charles.
Kenny also mentioned Clyde. But the Maxwell reference..
    That was just heart warming.

he was trying to help the Rockets. Payton was a Rocket killer.
Plus, Payton has issues with his own team. He and Dwayne Wade were going at it!

    Rudy
    Sam
    Kenny
    Mario
    Dream
    Otis

They believed. When it was Choke City, they believed it was Clutch City.

you can hate Max all you want.

    Kenny remembers.

I care more about Kenny's remarks than yours. He believed in his teammates.

I still love Max for every moment he gave us up until he decided to quit on the team.

For that action, I will always remember him as a no-class person.

I know that people aren't perfect. People will make mistakes and I know Vernon didn't make one for leaving the team.

I know that Clyde wasn't better than him so he decided to leave cause someone took his job.

Hakeem left the Rockets, he left in a worse mood than Vernon. I dont diss on the Dream.

I'm glad Vernon moved on to tutor and mentor Allen Iverson to become an MVP player. To play with HEART.

Just like Sam made KG and EB and Ray Allen better players.

Vernon made Horry and Sam into Clutch Players. Thanks for lifting our spirits and touching our hearts Vernon!

All of the year-by-year descriptions of his NBA performance were pasted directly from Maxwell's nba.com bio. Wikipedia has policies forbidding copyright violation, so an editor basically cleared out the entire article.

I just reverted it back to the previous version and deleted out the nba.com content.
