I have a water cooler at home that I fill up at the grocery store ($.35/gallon) so I drink out of that as well as fill up water bottles, the $1.75 usually lasts for a week and a half.

The Brita attatchment for the sink doesn't work well IMO, it just doesn't taste all that great, plus I like my water cold. The Britas you fill up yourself are okay, you can get pretty big ones and stick it in your fridge, I think some have a spout so you could fill up water bottles.

Anything beats drinking straight tap or paying $1.50 for bottled water.

My in-line water purification system with reverse osmosis beats bottled water hands down. Tap water rules.

Bottled water is the biggest scam of the century. I don't have time to post a big, lengthy thing about it, but do some research. The bottled water giants are huge con artists. You won't catch me buying bottled water anymore (unless it's the only thing available).

I save by drinking water at every restaraunt, the dude at Bennigans today asked me if I wanted Pierre or some other fancy smanchy water today when I ordered I was like  Just put a lemon in it dude.

Seriously I go through two big things of lemon juice at home because I don't reall like water by itself, I used to have a big soft drink problem, now a squirt of lemon juice to tap water and I'm good.

I spend $5 every 3 months through my Brita :)

My sister gav me one of her old Brita pitchers like 2 years ago and I just put the filter thingy every 3-6 months. I keep the Brita pitcher at work and just leave it at work with my name on it, but I know people still use it

Either way, im the same with tap water, can't stand it. I have watched to many things about what's in/can be in tap water and just use my Brita. I absolutely hate buying bottled water, but when it comes down to it, I sometimes do.

I just started that in the last month and i really like it, the only time i drink soda is at restaurants, Fountain dp is too good to pass up. Buy a lemon juice and a lime juice and you are set.

Never bought bottled cause I always thought it was pointless to pay for water. But now it seems even more pointless after being in the "know."

Here in Austin, I've been using the tap water since it doesn't really bother me (the tap water back home I wasn't quite as confident in). Lately though, I've been buying bottled water, but only to use up some of my "Dine-In Dollars" (basically money I could use at some of the UT campus stores). So maybe I "spend" $4-$6 or so a week on bottled water, but I'm not exactly getting ripped off since I have to spend the money anyway.

Back home, my family would get the jugs of bottled water and refill them when necessary at the refilling stations. I’m not sure how much that cost a week though.

i spend about ten bucks. That includes the random vending machine visits, and gas station stops and on top of that, i get water at some water purifiying store.

I don't really drink anything else. no soft drinks, no coffee, tea, liqour.

For real, these companies are making money selling WATER. It's amazing when you think about it.

I probably burn through a case or two of the Wal-Mart water a week. They're about $5 for 24 bottles. I don't buy coke or anything any more, so I really go through the water fast. The convenience of having bottles is one of the big reasons I go for it. Also, the Pittsburgh water tastes terrible.

Has anyone tried those Aquafina "Flavor Splash" waters? They're great!

Exactly. I don't mind paying $3.99 at all for 24 bottle of water - it's just so much more convenient. Grabbing a cold water from the fridge before leaving the house is so much easier than getting a glass of water...

These bottled water companies make most of their money by offering their customers convenience, rather than the actual water they sell.

There's a reason a pack up 12 bottles of Ozarka water costs more than three 1-gallon bottles of Ozarka water. The amount, and purification, of the water is the same...

My roommate and I each have a 1 gallon Brita. They work really well in filtering out a bunch of the junk in tap water. The biggest thing to remember to do is to change the filter every 3-4 months. If you use the filter too long you can start to tell.

I like Kroger's bottled water. Drink a case to a case and a half a week. Like others have mentioned, I almost always grab a bottle when I walk out the door.
