My one concern in this draft is that the Titans draft VY...we're gonna see him twice a year and if they build a strong team around him then for a decade or so we are gonna feel the brunt of his pride. Nothing like hearing from the media over and over from every Titans win that we passed up the local guy and our hated former team/owner are enjoying the success of his play...better hope that the Titans suck or are marginally succesful during the VY era...because that story will be replayed ad nauseum.
Why? Because we didn't gey VY or Bush. That's why. What else can I say. Me and the majority of everyone in the country know the Texans should have took Bush (VY would have been nice but it was unlikely). It's not that hard to explain.
How do you "Know" we should have taken Bush, and what is the reasoning behind this? Not that I'm trying to be a pest or anything here, but I just want to hear an opinion on Reggie Bush that says something that's not along the lines of "The Texans should have taken him because some people feel he's the biggest prospect since Gale Sayers." Like, why do we need Reggie Bush? Why is he such an upgrade over Domanick Davis that his presence alone is going to win us more games than we'd win without him?
Okay, the Texans didn't draft Reggie Bush and people boo, fair enough. They're unhappy with the pick. But, what upsets me the most is when some of our own fans all of a sudden change allegiances and say stuff like "Dallas Cowboys #1!!!" or "I'm a Houston Texans fan no more." The 2006-2007 season hasn't even begun yet and you're already saying stuff like that?? Talk about being selfish and being a fair-weathered fan. The Texans were smart with the draft. 1 Defensive End, 1 Linebacker and 2 Offensive Tackles....they filled the NEEDS for the team. And, I'm with EddieWasSnubbed on this one...I'm tired of the pro-Bush crowd saying, ".....because he's Reggie Bush." Let's just wait until the 2006-2007 season is over to see if the Texans made the right decision or not.
So would you pick Warrick Dunn Number One today? Unlike most of you that have been using to hearts in this case, I have been using my head & eyes, and I can categorically state to all of you now that Reggie's career in the NFL will at best resemble Warrick Dunn's. Not bad by any stretch but not worth #1. There is no sane person that will select Warrick Dunn with the # pick - don't believe the hype folks. I can't wait for 2006/2007 season. Stiop consolling yourself or rather deceiving yourself. Mario was who Coach Kubiak wanted all along. This has been in the reports for weeks now. Kubiak won - end of story - this was not an accident but a deliberate selection in line with the desires of the coach. I am sure Reggie would have taken $26.5M - Warrick Dunn ...errrrrr Reggie Bush was not even worth that to start with
