http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2006/news/story?id=2423422 I personally think he's a stiff, but if he's not on the draft board, everyone (Roy in particular) moves up and becomes tougher for us to get. This draft is getting shallower by the minute. Evan
I agree there. It's not looking like a prime position to be 8, 9 or 10 necessarily ... we still need guys to shine and "move up" that we don't need. Patrick O'Bryant really comes to mind. In my opinion, Noah should come out... his stock can't get much higher. McRoberts likely made the wise decision though ... I just wanted him out so someone else would take him ahead of us.
Yeah. We need some big man starved team to reach on this guy. Boston? Toronto? Anybody? Bueller? Bueller?
Alternatively, the good news is this guy isn't on the board for us to screw up and take him I guess he's got potential....but so does Robert Swift in Seattle and I'm passing on making a mistake like that for this team.
Bargnani has not declared if he will come out yet. If he doesn't this draft might become one of the weakest of all time.
Rules wise, he does not have to "declare" for the draft because he's 20 years and has already played professionally. You may be confusing "draftability" with eligibility. The same is true for (21 year old) Tiago Splitter. Although IIRC, Splitter's contract is longer so there are deeper buyout implications.
Well he still has to declare. Maybe you're hitting me with semantics, but I mean that he still has to choose to enter the draft. International players who played professionally aren't automatically eligible until they are 22. I mean presumably if all these international players were in the hopper from 20 years old on, a talent like Splitter would surely have been drafted with a 2nd rounder last year.
