Explain why Anthony Peeler got 2 games for similarly elbowing Kevin Garnett. If Ron did that to a Rocket, you guys would be hanging him. It was a Spur so it's OK?
while i agree that a suspension is necessary, because i believe it was intentional... ...artests elbow was NOTHING like the one peeler threw at garnett. don't even try to argue that. you just sound biased. http://random-m.com/images/415219131_manuandart.gif and http://youtube.com/watch?v=7ippDA4CLHE&search=peeler garnett are simply NOTHING alike...nice try though.
I agree. It was intentional, but it was as much Manu flopping (in the midst of an earlier flop) as it was contact. Peeler made like Roy Jones. Artest's clocking of Rip was 10 times worse. Of course, I don't think Haslem's actions warranted more than a fine either. It's Artest though, and the league simply can't/shouldn't treat any of his crap like they would anyone else. Evan
I like when players try and send a message. You have to be tough especially with finesse euro style players.
I'm more likely to believe that Ginobli intentionally bumped his face into Ron-Ron's arm. I freaking hate Manu. The guy gets an extra 20 offensive fouls a game with his herky-jerky epileptic crackhead body movements.
Ok, for sure it's not as bad as he made it seem. Damn, Ginobili pretty much flopped twice in that video. I think Ron saw that he was coming in the lane and he gave a forearm to push him out. You know, to send a message that you can't freely come to the lane. Unfortunately Manu was "recovering" from his initial "flop", so his head was a little bit down and so caught the elbow.
i think the league should start giving technical fouls for obvious flops. they should be 'flop technicals'. once you get four flop technicals youre suspended for one game for being a b****. that would straighten ginobili and nowitzki out. flopping is a frickin disgrace to basketball.
I don't think that was worthy of a suspension, but I wish Artest would've blind sided Manu with a running punch to his temple, giving that flooper a real reason to collapse to the ground.
Something needs to be done Refs give warnings and yellow cards in soccer for players who flop. Something similar needs to be done in basketball
thanks for the clip BUT this is plain awful. Artest was actually pushed and elbowed by Duncan. it appears that Artest's arm was caught in the air. he was actually sandwiched. a most questionable call.
artest shows manu his forearm with an open palm. he was just niggling, nothing more than just a shove off. if he really wanted to hurt him flexing his muscles with a closed fist would've done some damage. i don't think he was trying to be "dirty". if he had tried to shove him off with his hand it would've simply looked intentional.
Ron Ron shoud give him a real hard elbow and take him down next time. Its going to be another suspension anyway...
I agree with the people who think that any other NBA player wouldnt have been suspended. And the Peeler situation was completely different, that comparison isnt even close.
