Who would've made this promise? Now, according to Insider, someone ahead of the Celtics promised to take him.

The only real surprise was the inclusion of JUCO star Kedrick Brown, who has come out of nowhere to be projected as a top 10 pick. How obscure is Brown? Several top teams didn't even see tape on him until Monday. His agent, Arn Tellem, has kept him under wraps. Today a league source told Insider that Brown will be drafted before the Celtics pick at No. 10. According to the source Brown has a promise from a top 9 team.

I have the feeling that Kedrick Brown will be the bane of my mock draft.

Maybe the Cavs made the promise. They're in the market for a wing player, according to new coach John Lucas. I think the Pistons will go big at #9.

That's a risky promise to make, no matter who made it. With the unpredicability of this year's draft, you never know who is going to fall in your lap. If the Cavs made the promise, what if Jason Richardson or Shane Battier falls to them? Is Kedrick Brown better than either of them? I have doubts...

I think its hype. Perhaps Boston (or whoever) really wants another SF and would like to see someone picking ahead of them take Brown instead of their real target. If teams are really interested in a player they would keep quiet about him until draft day unless they have the top pick. Why generate more exposure and interest on your target player?

I posted about an agreement between Kedrick and the Blazers. I wouldn't be surprised if the Celtics trade him to the Blazers. I doubt he will last till # 19.

More unknown players getting pushed into the lottery, means more solid players for us to pick from. I sure hope that something to energize the city happens for us in this draft.

Throw Brown and Murphy in the top 12 and we will get either Woods or J.Johnson for sure...I sure hope it comes true. Probably won't though, because it never seems to happen the way we want it to.
