lol your work stories reminded me of the time when i was a sandwich artist at subway wayyyy back in high school. our first task after theyve decided ona type of bread is to say maynoaise or mustard? the lady didnt say yes or no, she said yes. so i put on both. she was dressed from head to toe like ivana trump. and the biggest mistake to make when youre a customr is to let them know youre in a rush. thats just an ******* thing do implying theyre not currently working hard. but anyways it was like a scene from the movie Waiting. "how hard is your job? and i was only 16 years old making $5.15 an hour. i charged her for double meat for the hell of it. but now looking back i probably shouldve given her the Bat-Wing.
According to some of our members here on CF.net its ok to try to rip people off with high shipping costs. And if you don't think so, then "you have no idea how to run an ebay business ". http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=104309
I agree that folks should charge reasonable shipping fees, but as long as everything is spelled out up front then folks know what they are getting into. If they don't like the shipping fee, then they shouldn't bid. Sellers, though, should be prepared to allow folks to pick things up themselves if it's a reasonable thing to do. If that means they don't get their outrageous shipping fee, then so be it.
Hey everyone, since we're talking about ebay, who do you know that sells legit autograph cards or pics. I'm thinking about buying some auto stuff of Yao & T-Mac, or actors online?
im glad i have a stalker on the bbs. dont worry, i have your milk thread bookmarked as well. and i still stand by my words that if someone wants to charge 15 bucks shippin and handling then so be it. thats his right. i personally think packin up an item and driving over to the post office is a lot of work, especially with these gas prices and these temperatures. If you dont like it, dont buy it, but i sure as hell wont stop someone from asking to pick it up from my house. i cant charge them for shipping on that. again, its called marketing. the lower your price the higher it will be on ebay searches.
It's not marketing. Particularly if you are looking just to show up high on the searches. What it is called is preying on the lowest common denominator and the one that is likely to buy without really thinking/reading about what they are getting into. Not that I frown on it. Hell, AOL made a fortune off of it...
If it's a factory produced auto card, you should be ok. If it's anything else, Steiner, Tri-Star, UDA, PSA/DNA, Global ASI are all good COAs. You will pay more for the first couple.
I agree people look at shipping costs as well, and i sure hope they doo look at em. but it just gives your ebay sale more of a chance to be looked at if it was listed at 2.99 + 10 shipping rather than 10 dollar cost and 2.99 shipping. ive tried both methods, the first one works better. and tricking people is the best of marketing, all them damn water bottle companies sell you on the taste of water. imo water is tasteless. its just the taste/smell of the container that you get.
