So i completed a transaction of my iPod 4th generation 20gb ipod. I charged it with a full batter and formated the hardrive before shipping it to this lady in north dakota. Shes been emailing me that she cant figure out how to charge the ipod using the usb cable and that it shouldve come with a ac adapter. Ive been emailing her back that if the battery is dead it shoudl take a while for the light to turn on while its charging. Shes like it doesnt.... ugh... shes probably going to end up returning it costing me all these paypal fees and the auction fee to sell the item. stupid ebayers are the worst
That stuff happens sometimes. You just have to expect it going in. I recently sold a CF GPS unit for a PDA. Guy said it didn't work. You just have to take the loss and move on. For the most part eBayers are pretty good. There are a few that aren't.
tell her to take it to the apple store, theyll show her how to charge it... once sold, it AINT YOUR PROBLEM.
im pretty sure its my problem if she decides to say i sold a broken product, she can just get her money right back through paypal. they just yoink it out of your bank account
its always something with Ebay. if u sell it u get idiotic people that dont know what the hell they bought OR in my case, i tried selling a brand new xbox FOUR times. and every single time it was BS. i didnt think fraud was that common, but man it is, and its frustrating. i ended up just keeping the xbox.
Actually with most returns, sellers charge the buyer with all the fees you listed. Thus you don't end up losing anything, other than your time. Just claim you have a "restocking fee."
close the account you can always make a new paypal accnt on a serious note, as mr B said make her pay shipping and handling as well as a restocking fee for the ipod... youll get a good 20 bucks out of your waste of time.
lol thanks guys, she said her husband went out and bought a wall adapter and is charging fine. maybe her usb slot is out of date i dont know. at least the ordeal is over with. once i sold my laptop for $800 to this guy... everything was fine except he was very unhappy with the date that the item arrives. apparently he bought it for his grandkids to use and watch dvd's on a road trip. and the item arrived after they left for the road trip. which ISNT my fault. he reported me to paypal saying i scammed him. and they ripped $800 right back out of my bank account. it was awful, we sent rude emails back and forth for about 2 or 3 weeks. what a headache.
My favorite ebay story is this: I put a bid in on a TV with a starting bid of $10. They wanted shipping of $100. My bid was $30. As soon as I won, I asked if I could pick up the item rather than pay the $100. The woman starts yelling at me saying that was fine! The next thing you know, she "accidentally" drops the TV, and tells me it is no longer serviceable, but she's "really" sorry. I told her if I ever see her selling it again, I'm busting her.
If you guys think that is only on Ebay... I worked in a music store when I was in college. We sold instruments to musicians...supposedly. It's amazing how stupid people can be with something as simple as a guitar.
I once was called to go repair someone's "broken" computer. It turned out that they hadn't pluged it in...
hahaha. i remember this story of mine, i work at cingular wireless, and this lady came in and starts yelling at me. i mean, she's not just rude and ballistic, she a class-a b!tch. she's complaining about how we ripped her off, how unprofessional we are for selling her a busted phone, etc. she starts cussing at me, and then for some reason it builded up to cussing the whole store and cingular wireless in general. i mean, THE WHOLE STORE JUST WENT QUIET! no one was talking other than me and the lady, not even the other customers. i tried to calm her down and asked her whats the problem, she told me her phone doesnt turn on even if she puts the wall charger in. she starts cussing again... i checked the phone, she freakin didnt put the battery in. im like, "ma'm, the battery's not here..". she just went quiet, said "oohhh..", turned around and walked away. right after she left, everyone started busting up.. even the customers inside were laughing hard. it was a very unique moment in my life.. lol.
thats awesome. one time this old guy was yelling at me when i was working for cingular because i was having hard time trying to reprogram a old bag phone. the thing had like 60 steps or something. i still remember him to this day, for one his name was kermit, never known anyone with that name but him.
