    The Foxsports.com of draft prospects are just ridiculous. They say that Eddy Curry may remind you of Stanley Roberts, Eddie Griffin of Derrick Mckey, and Kwame Brown of Danny Manning.

    I would like to point out that comming out of highschool, Stanley Roberts was a McDonalds All-American, and considered perhaps just a step behind future LSU teammate Shaq in terms of tallent. A position that pretty much describes Curry.

    Danny Manning, also, was an incredible high school player. He basically singlehandedly, pulled Kansas to a national championship. Max Falkenstien, the UK play-by-play man for the past 20 yearshad this to say about him:
    Oh, uhm he was also the first pick in the draft. Brown hopes he's as good as Danny Manning was.

    And while Eddie Griffin is a better player than McKey ever was, Derrick was the #9 overall pick in the draft in 1987.

    Just a note;

    I fully agree re: Manning...Before the injury, he was incredible...I'm not sure we've ever seen that package before or since...I remember the scouts at the timee talking about him being a Larry Bird with a lesser shot, but WAY more athleticism, and that's a player...Oh, and before the obvious " His shot was nowhere near Bird!" stuff starts, a) I agree but it was wild for a 6-11 guy, and b) Remember that, being the athelete he was, he was able to use his relative mobility to get off his shat against whatever big guy they ran at him...

    His performance in the Final Four may have been the single best I've ever see, especially when you remember that the Oklahoma teAam he went up against was STACKED! Something like 6 guys from that team were future first rounders, and nobody on Kansas but Manning got a real sniff...What made him most incredible was, and this would have been even better in the 1-on-1 NBA, that he created unreal matchup problems, sort of in the way that garnett does now, except his passing exploited the attempts at double team way more that Garnett does...

    Ok, thanks forlistening to me ramble, but you just don't often hear people remember how good he was, and what might have been...

    I'm moderator of the fantasy forum, because I host the league there. [IMG]

    By the way, I'm not in the bet, because I can't decide. I lean towards HP's side in general, but not in the case that Joe Johnson falls to 13, which becomes more likely every day. Please let him or Woods be there at 13!

    The Cat, it's not about believing in anything, it's about gambling!

    Do I really think that Walt or Langhi are so bad that the Rockets have to get a starting SF?!? Hell no! I think that Shandon Anderson will probably be w/ the Rockets next season and the only chance that the Rockets will really get a SF slated above Langhi is by acquiring Joe Johnson or Rodney White. Did that stop me?

    You 'survivors' standing around w/ your precious post counts will be the only real losers after 11/01... :p thapththththtppththt.
