Are you sure that isn't 400k in Euros. I remember the article and it wasn't exactly clear.

I wouldn't worry too much about the low assist numbers. It seems in the Euroleague they are a little more critical of what qualifies as an assist. For example in the NBA the league averages 20 plus assists per game and Spanoulis' team averages a little over 10. Just in what I watched of the game I couldn't see how they could only average 10 by nba standards. Which leads me to believe they are not using NBA standards. Spanoulis will get his fair share of assists in the NBA especially they way he drives the lane and then finds the open man. I also think he will quickly become the best at getting the ball to Yao. He'll never be a Nash type passer but maybe better than Rafer. One more note which doesn't translate into stats is he seems to have this fearless mentality, almost kind of Arrogant but more confident I believe. Which is what I beleive many Euros lack when they come in this league,e.g. Nachbar Nitschki, Milicic. I don't see him having that problem and add that with the fact that the kid just plays smart and doesn't take bad shots are make bad passes and I think he will have a solid NBA career.

The thread tells me one thing: We are desperate. :p Any remote assemblance of V-span to a current NBA starter will get us excited like crazy. :)

V-Span was a steal for a 55th or whatever pick.

Great! so 4 years ago we had a player reaching his peak 20 games into the season; and now we have a player reaching his peak before he enters the league? ;)

sorry OMR, not meant to make fun of you, but I just can't resist. :D

And that's what we need. Those "pitbulls" that JVG was talking about. Guys with swager. Seems Vspan has it. Nocioni and Ginobili have it too.

Manu has a confident swagger but Nocioni is just plain mean and nasty. But he's the type of guy every team needs.

Noccioni is a punk. I'll take him any day though. Him and Bob Sura can take anyone down.

Nene is a pretty tough customer too. Seems like the South American international players are made of sterner stuff than the typical Europeans.

Lets see if Spanoulis can compete in the Summer league. If he looks good against summertime competition, lets see him compete in training camp.

Players know not to mess around with Mocioni. He is gonna f**k you up. The whole time I am watching Rockets vs. Bulls, I am just hoping Nocioni picks Juwan Howard up and slams him onto the floor. Juwan would know btter than to mess around with him.

Seriously though, I bet Nocioni by himself strikes more fear into opponent's heart than our quad-quasi-PF-pudding of Juwan/Stro/Hayes/Bowen.

Don't get carried away. You can count with one hand how many NBA players are as fast as Iverson. If Vspan was that fast, he would have been dominating the Euroleague by now.

In the loss today, he had a great game. I wish I could find some stats. He just has it. I think he's going to be a great player for us. I saw him make great pass after great pass. He knocked in a couple of threes and could penetrate at will. I'm pumped about next season.

I just found the stats from that game. 20 points and 3 assists . I saw at least seven or eight assists. They definitely qualify assists differently.

the officiating in the euroleague is kinda bad. But then again the NBA isn't so great either. I don't know which is worse, NBA or Euroleague.

Either way, the kid VSPAN has speed and good ball handling skills.
