...but apparently will keep his job as Presidential Babysitter..... http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060419/pl_nm/bush_rove_dc_1 Rove gives up White House policy role WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Karl Rove, one of President George W. Bush's most trusted political advisers, is giving up his policy role as part of a White House shake-up, administration officials said on Wednesday. Rove has been deputy White House chief of staff for policy development and Bush's top political adviser. His policy role will be taken over by Joel Kaplan, currently the deputy White House budget director, two administration officials said.
Apparently he gave up the post to concentrate and give his full attention to getting republicans re-elected.
EltonJohn Tex, what you forgot mention was that he was leaving to focus on the upcoming elections. So really this is the democrats' worst nightmare: he's going to titty-whip you fools yet again in the elections. Great news for Republicans out there.
"Titty-whip"? Ashlee you must be an elementary school teacher in real life. Rove is running out of wedge issues that will help the Republikkkans this time around. Enjoy November!
The position Rove gave up was deputy White House chief of staff for policy development! policy development?!?!? Now how has that been going recently?!?!? BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
So you say he's an elementary school teacher, yet you called those that don't agree with you "Republikkkans?"
from josh -- I'm still trying to get my head around whether or not taking the policy portfolio from Karl Rove really means anything. But unless I'm missing something, this 'shake-up' has yet to see anyone actually penetrate the Bush White House bubble. Isn't that right? I have to imagine they'll pick someone from the outside for press secretary. But two of the three mentioned for the job are former administration press secretaries -- Dan Senor and Victoria Clark. The third, Tony Snow, is also a White House communications hand, only he's seconded to Fox News. In all seriousness, I think the real story here continues to be that things are so bad at the White House, the level of denial and secrets to be kept, the self-bamboozlement and bad-faith so profound, that they just can't manage to bring in any new blood. With Rumsfeld, or any other cabinet secretary, there's a related problem -- the importance of which has, I think, not been fully appreciated or aired. If Rumsfeld goes, you need to nominate someone else and get them through a senate confirmation. That means an open airing of the disaster of this administration's national security policy. Every particular; all about Iraq. Think how much they don't want that ... Finally, can they find anyone on the outside who wants in? This, remember, seems to be the problem with Treasury Secretary Snow. He has already, in essence, been fired. But they can't come up with anyone crazy enough to take the job. -- Josh Marshall
i think this is a big deal because rumsfeld is keeping his job without change after marginal results but rove has to have his completely redefined. rove is such a big name they couldn't fire him outright so they gave him a new position..............
It's going quite well, in fact. The economy is booming, my taxes are lower and life is generally great! Thx for asking. TTYL
poor texxx Only in his delusional, up is down world would a demotion be considered a positive. Not surprising considering he emulates a failed president that spends his days throwing temper tantrums in front of the press. "I'M THE DECIDER!!!!" bwaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!
Of course it did. Our nation was attacked on 9/11. The war on terror began on that day. Of course that changes things. To suggest otherwise is absurd and as I've said before, disrespectful to the victims of the tragedy.
No I did not say that. Quit being an instigator. You're disrespecting the victims of that sad day. Does that not bother you?
