i just saw the final fantasy- advent children movie.. the Jap version with subtitles... and its amazing. after watching that movie i started playing FF7 again and i still believe its the greatest game ever made. I bought FF8 but never got into it. so now i have to ask, which is your favorite FF game and why?

Final Fantasy 7 is easily my favorite one. Can't really put into words why... it's just the best. Good magic system, good traditional combat, lots of fun side quests, good characters, good music, a rich world, humor... that game has it all.

I also loved Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy Tactics.

Neither did I... VIII and IX sucked.

    One word: Opera.

FF6 is the greatest RPG of all time, on this there can be no debate.

VII is my favorite, although I haven't played VI. I still own VII and still play it occasionally.

I've played 7 through 10. 10.2 looked a tad girly so I passed on it.

7 is the best. Awesome story and the death of Aeris was crushing.

8 is like 90210 but I liked most of it.

9 was a little cheesy and took me longer than all the others to finish.

10 was pretty cool except that I could never get into the aquaball game.

I wish they would create a new one, I had no interest in the online version.

They have, and some have said that it is the best FF since FF7. FFXII should be out in the US by around November I believe.

the only real problem i have with FF is you can't skip the cutscenes. some of those take what seems like 2 hours to finish. i'd probably be more inclined to play through them or replay if i could just skip them.

I think either FFX or FFX-2 let you skip cutscenes...thinking it was X-2 for some reason. I'm not sure about FFXII though.

Played the crap out of VII. Beat VIII but took too much time to finish 9 and 10, although 10 was one of the most visually amazing games ever.

But VII's my favorite. The movie would have been better if Tifa wore less clothing.

I've played 7 before, but it has been so long I don't remember much. I have FFX right now and have been playing it off and on for the last few months. Forgot how much I enjoyed that game. I finally got all the legendary weapons and all the aeons and am in the process of capturing and defeating all the monster arena creatures. I played this game long ago and never bothered to learn the blitzball stuff, but this time around I decided I would do everything so I forced myself to learn it. It really isn't bad once you get into it. The numbers and their system make it seem more complicated than it really is. I want to play 7 again.

I watched Advent Children on Youtube, and it is indeed amazing. I'm totally buying the U.S. DVD version when it comes out later this month.

I'm slightly biased because i haven't played 7 yet, but 6 is the best as goes story and everything! Man I spent my whole summer playing it one year. I've also played FF 2,5,8,9 and tactics but none had so many characters with story depth to them!

PS2. You can check out a ton of gameplay footage at the following link:

I think it looks very good.

Also, there are rumors that FFXIII is "almost complete" for the PS3, and a teaser will be shown at E3.

I recently downloaded FFVII and played it, I used to think it was the best, but now I think it is becoming overrated. FFX is the best.

Yeah, FF3 is the same as FF6. FF4 is also the same as FF2 FWIW.
