Did it have more republicans than democrats? Was it chaired by a republican or a democrat? There ya go!
Not only chaired by a republican, but Pat Roberts is one of the administration's most reliable apologists when it comes to holding the administration accountable for anything. Roberts has tried at every chance he could to derail any kind of true investigation into how the administration deceived the US into a war of choice. He has done everything within his power to deflect blame from the no exit strategy president.
riiiiiiight, because john edwards and the rest of the neolefts were so enthusiastic about exposing the lies of a kerry consultant in the middle of the 2004 campaign.
Basso, I just submitted your name to the White House for consideration as the new Bush Administration Media w****, er, I mean Press Secretary. You are a perfect candidate due to your inherent ability to spout crap, pass it off as the truth, and show no proof for anything. Good luck on your interview. Be sure to wear your red power tie.
Sorry Tex, basso is far too truthful to be a member of this administration. Thanks for your suggestion tho, George
But again the parts of the report that supposedly 'expose' Wilson don't come from the body of the report at all. They come from Pat Roberts 'summary' portion of the report. The Democrats also had summary portions of the report, and they don't contradict Wilson at all. Most importantly the parts of the report that pertain to Wilson's trip have been posted in this thread. They don't contradict Wilson's other statements at all, and in fact serve to back them up.
I think this is another case of the media not doing its job. The part of the Sentate intel committee report that he quoted has been all over the media. Yet the setting the facts straight has rarely if ever been mentioned. Nobody talks about the body of evidence from the report actually supports Wilson's claims, and bolsters the case he has consistently made then and continues to make today. Instead they seem to try and create a controversy around him, by only quoting the summary by Pat Roberts. It doesn't take that much investigation to look at the report itself and actually see that Robert's summary is largely unfounded, and the evidence which has been laid out in this thread backs up Wilson's claims all along. I don't think it is a case of the media being conservative, it is a matter of them being lazy and thinking the American Public can't handle a deeper analysis of the situation. If I was somebody who saw the media claims, and Pat Roberst statement and bought into it, I would be fuming mad right now, because these people fooled me, and the media didn't do its job.
