Desperate for another meaningless victory, Van Gundy orders Yao and T-Mac to take the floor against the Spurs.
McGrady again scores 13 points in the final 31 seconds to pull out the win, but tragedy strikes when he lands back-first on Yao's broken foot, severely worsening both injuries.
"Yeah, they may never play again," a smiling Van Gundy says after the game. "But it was worth it to screw up our draft pick even more."

this game is NOT meaningless to the spurs
they need this game to break their winning record
since some of u said the lottery race is over for us
why not trying to win this game
i dont want to see the next day SA newspaper headline:
"Spurs broke winning record with victory over Rockets"

Getting to the number 6 pick is over, but we can still flounder our way to 7 or 8, rather than 11.....

Losing this game is better for next years team.....

Thank God this is finally over....I was waiting for it to be over so we can start lookig forward to next year rather than sulk over this ##ucked up season.....There is a lot of work to be done but I dont know if we have the cap room and or people upstairs to get it done....The rockets usually somehow get big names alothough they dont' always work out...you have to give credit to the rockets for that...They traded for Drexler..They signed Barkely in a trade, got Pippen...Got Tracy...Got Stromile....those were all big additions that most people thought the rockets could never land. Half of those never worked out but somehow, someway they brought them in and we ALL WERE EXCITED about it..then when it didn't work out, we b****ed (which we have a right to do as fans..)...I think the rockets will have a couple of nice signigs and or trades in the summer that will strenghten this team...they obviously can't sit back and just wait for Tracy or Yao to get better...they can't better with the draft for next year...they need to sign a few and make some trades....at least Les has balls to afte the big guys...Hey, Ben Wallace is a free agent but there is no way Detroit is letting him go..they'll pay him whateve he wants..without him, they are nothing...Peja will be out there..
Could we package our first two draft picks (we have the 1st pick in the second round of the Mo Taylor trde) for for a big free agent?....oh well..i guess we will wait and see...
One other thing I would like to see is more fire from Mcgrady next year...even when he was playhing, he wasn't really in alot of those games...I wish he would develop that killer instinct like Kobe and Lebron have....Tracy takes losing all too well and it needs to stop..its like he expects it from his Magic days...that to me is unacceptalbe..its the one thing I can't stand from today's players is when you see them laughing and joking around on the bench when they are losing....its like they don't care as much as we do...Can't wait till next yeaer...can't be worse than this one...

oh yea....they better lose tonight!!!! rockets 77 Spurs 89
Please do not find a way to win this one....I'm begging you....No good could come of this....every freakin team is tanking and we are trying to win....its those kind of things that get coaches fired...they are paid to win games (which we did not) when we need to win and lose games when we need to (which we are not)....Lose DAMN IT....

I hope Tim Duncan burn the nets of the rim from scoring on Juwan for making us win that last game against denver. Juwan wanted to be a damn hero in Denver against their 10th string players and I hope T. Parker run rafer out of the western conference. Plus, I'm surprised JVG have not signed Charles Oakley and John starks to a 2-year contract

What? What happen to Yao? Did he go back to china after straining his ankle? Because only a vicious capitalist would have made him play in meaningless games after that.

Lampe plays, has a career game scoring 33 pts and 13 rebounds.
JHO gets hot going 12/13 from the field

The players pull out a miraculous effort to upset the Spurs on a last second 3pt shot by Ryan Bowen

It should be an exciting game. Our old vets, Howard, Wesley, Deke and our next best couple of players scrambling to see if they can beat spots 10 through 15 on the Spurs.

I will give enough of an edge to our top guys that we can pull out a win and show what a motivator of men JVG is.

It will be different if the Spurs play their 7th , 8th or 9th best players excessively.

I'll be there, ending out my first year to ever have Rocket season tickets. It's quite depressing, I feel like crying! With that said- what the heck let's win the game.

We are losing by a lot in the 4th by Ryan Bowen pulls a near-T-Mac in the final seconds and drops 12 points in 36 seconds including the game winning no-look dunk.

Not as good as McGrady but it's Ryan Bowen so it's all good.

However, even with the emergence of Bowen, the draft lottery high pick hopes are ruined and Van Gundy is elated with the win. The people on ClutchFans and all the other logically educated Rockets fans out there groan in dismay but it made JVG happy and that's all that matters.
