If the Rockets stay @ their current positions what two players would you be happy drafting? I like this dynamic duo:

    9th - Shelden Williams- DUKE - PF
    32nd - PJ Tucker -TEXAS - SG/SF

Name your couple to Tango ! :)

I think PJ Tucker should go back for his last year at Texas but I wouldnt mind having him on the Rockets. When I think of him I think of a bigger, more physical, more athletic Keith Bogans. He definately has a mean streak in him.

If we don't get Roy, Carney or Gay in the lotto, I say we pick a 2-guard at 32, either Mike Gansey or Denham Brown.

I'd try to trade down with NJ (22 and 25) or NOK (13 and 17) to grab Redick as well as Shelden or Boone, and then take Dee Brown at 32. We need a swingman pretty bad, but I don't like our chances at trading up for Roy. I'd just as soon throw the MLE at Trezor Ariza instead.

I'd even consider offering them Swift instead of the pick (which technically can't be done until they're signed, IIRC, but it can be done unofficially like verbal signing agreements).

If we keep our pick where it is, I'd pray that Roy drops to us, but if not, I'd go with Brewer. I think McRoberts is going to be a serious bust. I don't like the look of the PGs right now, especially the Iverson-complex guys like Foye.

Seattle is tied with us in the "win" column ... so technically it is a 3-way tie between us, Golden State and Seattle. Seattle just happens to have 2 games left... GSW and HOU only have one.

The Warriors finish the season @Utah ... neither has anything to "win" for but pride. Golden State is 1-2 against the Jazz this season, though their lone win was in Utah.

Seattle is @Sacramento tonight, then they come home to face the Nuggets. Hopefully George Karl does another tank special, but I'm not so sure after the backlash they got yesterday. Seattle is 1-2 against both of those opponents.

Bottom line: If we lose, Golden State loses and Seattle loses their final two, it's a 3-way tie for 8-10 and depending on the tiebreakers, we could be any one of those numbers.

    #9 - Carney / Brewer / Barganni / Mardy Collins
#32 - Paul Davis / Pittsnoggle / Nick Fazekas (seriously...just a coincidende that they are all white PF in that range :D )

Don't know what will happen in the 1st round.. heck, once the pre-draft camps start, guys will be flying up and down the charts.

However, in the 2nd, it would be nice to see a guy like Yi fall to us.

no way roy falls to us. carney might be available and redick will definitely be available. if les and CD stick to thier word. we will look to draft a 2 who can shoot.

if carney isn't available, and redick doesn't impress enough to warrant a lotto pick sheldon williams and marcus williams would make interesting picks.

i'm not sure about the second round pick yet, but i would be happy with any of the 4 players named above.

I know Dawson said we're looking for shooters. (and I've heard some analysts say that Frahm was an experiment to see if Reddick would do well in the Houston offensive system).

But After the Denver Game, Van Gundy was talking about get getting more slashers who can go the basket and get their own shot. That sounds a bit more like Carner or Brewer than Redick.

9th - Roy, Shelden William, Reddick, Carney, Brewer (trade down a few picks if possible to get Reddick/Carney/Brewer if they fall.)

32nd - Bobby Brown, Douby, Fazekas, Novak, Gansey

What is the deal with trying out 70 prospective draft picks?
I guess this is beginning of Rockets Moneyball. Hope it works out well.

Hell know to PJ Tucker. The last thing we need is a undersized power forward who by the way is not and can't play shooting guard or small forward. I think the Rockets will get one of Carney, Roy, Gay. If none of them are there, trade the pick because nobody else is worth it,

I would be happy with this.

Taquan Dean is a nice player but we dont need anymore 6'3 shooting guards.

Trying to think outside of the box.......

It's not clear what Tiago Splitter's contract situation is with Tau Ceramica. If his contract situation drops him too far, I'd take a gamble on Tiago by trading down and (since we have several small trade exceptions) getting a rotation-level player as part of the trade. (McGrady's backup?).

As much as I like Mike Gansey, he's almost a duplication of what we already have at SG. Don't know much about Sean Dockery, but he was 1st Team All Portsmouth Invitational and may provide insurance in case we can't get V-Span over here next season. (IIRC, there's a minor buyout issue with Panathaniakos).

If you're looking for a 6'6" swingman who is somewhat off of the radar try Bobby Jones. Jones was Brandon Roy's running mate at Washinton and also a 1st teamer at the PIT. If you believe draft website descriptions, Jones is supposed to be a fundamenatlly sound player with decent enough offense, a great work ethic and is a lockdown defender at either the 2 or 3.

UConn's Brown & Anderson will both be available at 32, and though i didn't watch all of their games this season, those two did a lot of stuff that went unspoken for. IMO, they are more sound than Gay. I'm not saying let's pick them; I'm just saying that whoever does will have them around for a long time, b/c they're not gonna shoot themselves in the foot.
