    cant download aim, cant use aim express.
    is there any other options?

    this is not for goofing off, but for business.
    the i.t. gurus are afraid i will get some sort of virus. :rolleyes:

    My work bans most chat programs, but Google just recently made one called GoogleTalk that has not yet been banned. Maybe give it a try (you have to have a google email account, though).

    Can't download it? But can you install it? Bring it from home then. If not then yeah try some 3rd party chat program that will allow you to connect to AIM like trillian.

    I use Gaim at work. It's an all-in-on IM client that you can connect to Yahoo, MSN, AIM, ICQ, IRC and Jabber. It's so much better than Trillian and it's free.

    What the I.T. 'gurus' don't know won't hurt them (speaking as an I.T. guru). The way I see it- if it's not hurting the computer or clogging the network, I don't mind if people use it.
