We'll pass Golden State. I think they'll win both those games against the Blazers.

Boston's got NJ, CLE, and MIA the rest of the way. They have a shot of beating CLE at home, if LeBron isn't playing.

At worst, I think we'll be in a tie for 7th, and we'll probably be in a tie for 6th. In case of teams with the same record, they randomly choose the order before the lottery. Sixth is certainly within our grasp.

Whatever, with the 7th pick, if Noah declares, Rox can grab either Roy or Gay tied up in rookie salary. You can't do better than that for value and youth. People who think that players will play for you below market value live in a pipe dream and have to check reality every day.

omg we can't rely on a draft pick. JVG won't start a rookie whatsoever. please trade that pick to Atlanta for josh childress or josh smith

WOW, I have to say what Golden State is doing now is very suprising! I mean I thought for sure they were in tank mode. But to see those wins against Dallas and Phoenix!?!?!?? They are one game back of the Rockets and play the WORST team in the league, Blazers, TWICE! I never thought the Warriors could pass us but it looks like there is a good chance of that! Very interesting turn of events!

Minnesota, Seattle, Boston. It's going to be close with us and those teams.

On a side note, good to see the Knicks losing and the Bobcats winning yesterday. Now NY has the 2nd worst record. I am not sure the Knicks can catch the Blazers for the worst, so the Rockets will probably get the 2nd pick in the 2nd round. Hopefully the Knicks can continue to hold off the Bobcats for that position.

I too am surprised. Here is the lotto recap/standings.

    http://www.clutchfans.net/nbadraft/lottery

The beauty of GS and Portland facing each other is a win or loss will help us for either team ... though preferable that Golden State wins. NY is playing pretty bad and they are one game "back" of Portland. I'd like for the Knicks to be the worst, assuring us that top 2nd round pick. But clearly, I'll take the second or third pick in the second round if it means even one spot in the first round.

Speaking of Golden State, did you see the (real) quote from the Warriors Mike Dunleavy last night after the game?

<UL>"At this point, technically the games are meaningless, so to go ahead and win them all, we're going to try," said Mike Dunleavy, who had 18 points for Golden State.

Then he joked: "But if we don't, that's OK, too, because we'll have a higher draft pick. We're going to go in and compete. Hopefully we win, and if we don't, then I guess there's a little consolation that we won't slip in the standings for the draft."
    </UL>

I am not as crazy about JVG as I was before but one has to maintain integrity and keep bias at the minimum.

We throw myths around long enough for people to start believing or thinking that it is factoid. In truth I would submit that the part about Rudy attracting players or free agents because of his personality is myth. You may think that is the case but it sadly isn't.

If you disagree, kindly list the "free agents" or "players" Rudy T "attracted" and how it impacted our fortunes, and also list the FAs that came here under JVG for comparism sake. This would be fun to see :)

Not only did the Rockets lose to Memphis, but Charlotte beat Indiana. Charlotte moves down to the 3rd pick and NY moves up to the 2nd pick. NY will probably keep losing and give us the 2nd pick in the 2nd round.

Jason Richardson not playing for GS tonight?! Don't have NBALP, but ESPN's scoreboard lists him as not entering the game so far, and I didn't recall him getting hurt last night.

    I smell a rat.

Only problem for GS is Portland can't afford to win either.

Btw Clutch, THANK YOU for resurrecting the Lottery Race updates. I look forward to finding a new one every time I log on; I find the "articles" quite amusing.

    Guys,

Tmac is completely healthy, don't complain about GS not playing Richardson.....

We are clearly in tank mode too.

No, with T-Mac there is no point in him coming BACK and risking re-injury. He needs all the rest he can get.

With Richardson, it's shady for him to go AWAY.

No offense, but they are completely different situations.

    From ESPN's recap last night:

"We said (earlier in the week) we're playing our last five games, and we want to win," said Richardson, who's averaging 24.9 points per game since the All-Star break. "If we play the next three like we played the last two, we're going to win."

And he's not playing tonight. Looks like JR is not with the program so management had to step in.

    forgot Seattle.

It's pretty much a 4-way tie going by the win column.

I forgot the deal with the coin toss for ties.

If we have a three way tie, does that mean coin toss? Or do they first look at other stats (division & conference losses) which would give the Rockets the tie breaker.

    :)
