im in the middle of a business deal going sour. the guy on the other end is threatening me. ive heard tapes will not stand up in court from a friend who went through a nasty divorce and had some nasty voicemails. anyways, i would just like to catch this guy in the act of threatening me or harassing me. i was also told that i may have to tell him i am recording the convo. i may be going to a lawyer soon. thanks.
I think as long as it's a private conversation you are essentially recording your own conversation and it's ok.
Varies from state to state. Some places, both parties to a call need to be informed that the call's being recorded; other places, only one party (i.e. you) needs to know. Not sure what Texas' position is.
Hey Gummi, does this help? http://www.pimall.com/nais/n.recordlaw.html http://www.callcorder.com/phone-recording-law-america.htm
does this guy have mafia connections? bc if he does, the law is useless... 1)mafia 2)santa clause 3)Police Force/Law 4)women Might as well just give up now...sorry bud
Zac is correct. In Texas, only one party needs to know a conversation is being recorded. That party, of course, is going to be yourself in this instance. What you COULD NOT do would be to surreptitiously record the conversations had between two other people.
