    Agree with this.

I don't see any problem with keeping the guy one more year and playing him 10-12 minutes a night. He's in great shape and always gives you 100% on the floor. At best, he'll give you some rebounds, physical play in the paint and he can still change some shots. At worse, it's 6 extra fouls to give.

    One more year!

Hayes can play center. Malik Rose played the backup center position for the Spurs with similar height. I think Hayes can be a backup center. He is undersized, but since there are not many good centers around, he can play the center position. His main job will be to push other centers outside the paint, collect rebounds and score on putbacks etc.

I think he should stay too.

All I said was the reason Stro is often the 1st sub for Yao is because of matchups. Deke just can't guard a lot of the smaller/quicker centers of today. But on weakside defense, Deke is still awesome.

I'll be disappointed if Deke is let go.

How about a poll: "Who wants to sex Mutombo?"

We have to keep mutombo, Yao's emergence cancels out any extra minutes for mutombo. He still does a good job imo. Alot of teams would kill to have him as thier backup

it's very difficult to be productive when you average 4 minutes a game.

Exactly, it's hard to be productive when you're not given very many minutes. There have been several times this season that Deke has gotten DNP-Coaches Decision despite being perfectly healthy and able to be effective.

Gumpy makes so many stupid decisions with this team. We should be getting rid of him, not Mutumbo.

Even if Deke retires, we should still try to keep him on the team to be Yao's mentor.

Deke's doing a great job. He can still be useful next year.

Van gundy loves deke for good reasons. he is 7'2 and is still probaly in the top 8 defensive centers in the league. he was pretty damn good tonights. he got 9 points on 3 shots. i'll be really, dissapointed if he is'nt retained next season.
