Hmmm...must be a difference of cultures, then. To me, an administrator in a professional sports league is as much a fan as anyone. Moreover, in a situation like this, the fans should be as, if not more, skeptical than the administrator. It is for the fans sake, after all, that the player needs to stay healthy. I don't understand why it is a big deal for some to think Chinese fans are probably skeptical. I certainly would be. The first thing I thought when I heard 4-6 months as oppossed to 4-6 weeks was that they may be trying to just make sure Yao gets some rest even beyond the time needed to heal the foot.
With all due respect, I don't know what you are talking about. You may want to revisit where the argument first comes.
What I'm saying is, China's fans SHOULD be skeptical. Ergo, the administrators should also be skeptical (administrators and fans should have the same perspective on this...moreover, admnistrators do = fans). It's not a big deal. I'm just trying to find something to write about in the GARM..
Ok, but that's not what prompted my question. only in....Where? Next thing we know American government = American people? Ok, In which case feel free, I should not even bother to reply.
I might be the only one here that wouldn't be surprised if the Rockets are exaggerating the injury a little to get Yao some rest. By the way I am not chinese or a Yao only fan. Just skeptical of the business side of the NBA.
When is the world going to learn? Sports are the only thing the American media does report accurately. Chinese sports writers questioning American sports writers is funny.
Of course. American government and administrators are subject to the same laws as all American people.
that's just a bunch of B-S... that's crazy.. Chinese fans need to chill out a lil bit .. Yao has got to focus on his NBA career and do the world championship thing as an extra thing (on the side).. and like somebody mentioned already on this thread, they dont have a slight chance in winning the WC even with Yao because their team lacks guards & athelticism ...
You got it backwards. This is not some American athlete who needs to be prodded and coddles into joining team USA. Yao regards his responsibility to China and the CNT as paramount, and he would do anything to help Chinese basketball. If you don't believe me, read his autobiography and watch his documentary. I know that Chinese fans and Rockets fans have conflicting interests in this regard, but you can't ignore what Yao himself thinks.
Hey it was foribidden till the end of last century. The fee is to maintain the palace. Dont we pay taxes to maintain our parks? You can say capitalism or socialism, and there are not many countries exclusively have one of it. There are plenty of socialism in US and plenty capitalism in China. China always say it has democracy just different from what is in the western. In a globalized economy, there is really no point arguing over ideology. People need to get over cold war mentality.
Im wondering if Les broke even with the All Star Game being in town this season??? With the plague of unbelievable injuries, sometimes I wonder if we tanked the season just to add the final pieces of our Championship team this offseason. When everyone was healthy we were pretty good this year, but I dont know if we could compete w the DAL, SA, PHX, DET, MIA in a seven game series just yet. Also I worry about the guy that died fixing the scoreboard haunting Toyota Center. It seems like they need to call in the VooDoo Preistess, Exorcist, etc.
I agree with u man.. and I am a foreign-American kinda like Yao is.. and If I were in his place I'd do the same thing.. his country should always be first.. but Chinese fans went too far by all of these "conspiracy" stuff ..I know JVG is stupid for playing him, but that's what happened, he didn't get injured on purpose so he cant play in the WC..
I hope this last paragraph will calm everyone down here. The Chinese understand they don't have realistic chance of getting into the medal round without an injury-free Yao.
I hope he doesnt play in the World Championships (sorry China ) so he can rest up and own it up next year with the Mac.
