just a quick question for you guys.... Sura has been injured all year and hasnt played a minute all season. Granted we have had alot of injuries this year which include the likes of Yao and Tracy. Even when our 2 SUPERSTARS were injured, they would sit on the team bench in their street clothes. We paid Sura this year for absolutely nothing and I NEVER EVER see him sitting on the bench rooting on his squad. anyone else notice this? does JVG give the option to his players if they wanna sit during regular season games on the bench if they are injured? WHERE YOU AT BOB?
If he has no chance of playing this year, I see no reason to force him to sit on the bench. He adds nothing by being there.
Not true, I've seen him on the bench a number of times this season. I think he is more absent than present but I have seen him watching from the bench. He is going to be huge for us if he can come back at full strength. We have so tradeable assets to rebuild this team and we only have the MLE to spend. I hope our picks in this years draft are able to start and are good ones.
I went to the Denver game when Mcgrady went down in January and Sura was on the bench cheering, but Yao didn't appear to be at the game whatsoever.
I thought this thread was about something else so I'll go ahead and derail it. If he does come back, he's probably not going to be good for very many minutes. He might be better suited for a bench role. Him and Barry playing a few energy minutes might be just what we need for next year. I hope we haven't seen the last of that hand sign thing they do. That was awesome.
Barry? He is retired! I think Sura and Wesley can be good bench player for next season if we can find some young guys who can shoot the ball well.
I know he retired. I was here. But didn't he say offhandedly during last nights broadcast that he could play 10 mins a game and shoot? I wouldn't be shocked to see him back next year. You can't honestly tell me he wanted to go like that. Michael Jordan retired too. And MJs no Jon Barry.
I've seen him too... and I completely agree with you tiger0330 that he is going to be huge for us next season, and I am pretty sure that he is coming back full strength because that guy is a warrior.. I think the failure of this season had to do big time with Sura's injury.. u cant tell from his stats what good of a player he is ..
even if he aint on the bench, he is probably working out and doing rehabs to come back strong next year and start for us instead of the scrub rafer...
with all due respect to sura, looks like his career is over time for the rockets to do a buyout of his contract
Just my opinion and I'm sure the Gundy-haters will disagree. But based upon JVG's off the cuff comment about "we got real old real fast", I don't see the Rockets adding any one to the team next year that is over 30. IOW, whomever we pursue via free agency and trades will be sub-30 years of age.
Remember, he faints alot though, so he may not be sitting on the bench. Did you look under the bench?
omg,.. what's wrong with u man... his career aint over until he says it is .. Bobby is a great player and I dont think any PG can fill in his place with the rockets.. he is our 3rd best player after T-Mac & Yao..
I would say that Sura's career is likely over. I really loved the guy, but I doubt very seriously that he will ever wear Rocket red again. Too many serious problems. I sincerely hope I am wrong.
Barry is retired people. He's likely to join TNT to show up those clowns. Sura has been to almost every home game this season. He sits in the special section. He was sitting there with Wesley before our road trip.
I agree with you except I wouldn't be so absolute about nobody over 30 being added. But it's very obvious our focus will be towards youth and athleticism, neither of which Sura has.
