Andy Katz for Espn seems to think Morris is going to slip to the 2nd round and that he might not even get drafted at all. If this is the case, then maybe the Rockets should trade down to get him and at the same time trade up to get a better 1st rounder. An example would be:

    #13 and #23 to Cleveland for #8 and #36.

Cleveland needs depth and if Rudy really does want T. Mo then he could just wait till the 2nd round.

We could also trade with Atlanta
    #13, #18, #23 for #3 and #34

Then the Rockets could get Brown, Curry, Battier, or Diop, etc and Morris. Shedding two 1st rounds picks would lighten our salary cap a bit.

What does everyone who wants Morris think?
I am undecided about his possible impact to the Rockets, but if they do really want him then they might be able to help themselves in other ways.

I think the Rockets will take Morris at #23 and he is laying low because he wants to be here and neither he nor the organization want anyone else to say, "Hey, this guy's actually pretty decent." He couldn't go much higher anyway, and might slip only a little. Katz is just taking the bait along with the rest.

Do you think that any other teams are high on him?

I don't know, and that's the problem. I wouldn't want to grab him at 18. So many draftniks diss the guy but I wonder if Cleveland might take him at #20. Tough to say.

I expect T Mo to be one of the surprises that goes too "early".

I've said it before, and I'll say it here: if the Rockets want T-Mo they need to grab him at #23. T-Mo will never get past the Spurs at #29 because he is the perfect replacement for Sean Elliot (unless they go a lotlower for Joe Johnson or Rodney White or Eddie Griffin etc.).

MManal suggested that the Spurs might take TMo with their 1st rounder. The more I think about it the more I agree with him. TMo is very similar to Sean Elliot with more height. I think if the Spurs can get someone to replace Elliot with their pick in the 1st round they will nab him.

If we have not addressed our small forward needs before 23 and TMo is still on the board then I say we take him.

If Radmanovic turns out to be a better overall player than Morris, and is available at the 18th spot,I would pick him up.I'm hoping that he is as good as Turkoglu.
However if Morris is still around at 23,I would still take him rather than letting the Spurs getting him with the 29th pick.

We should trade our 23rd pick for the 25th pick and two future draft picks. Then draft Terrence Morris at the 25th pick. Trade the 13th, 18th and one of the two future draft picks to get Pau Gasol at the 6th pick.

If we draft Gasol (a SF) at #6, then why would we want Morris? With Gasol, it seems to me that the Rockets would want a C or PF.

This is an excerpt from Sam Smith's NBA REPORT, printed on Mondays:

Maryland star's stock may be climbing again: Houston's Steve Francis thinks he has found the sleeper of the draft. It's former Maryland teammate Terence Morris, who skipped the Chicago camp and has been working out with teams. The athletic Morris was considered a top-10 pick two years ago, but has been regarded as unaggressive and fell in scouts' eyes.
"I've seen him work out," said Francis, hoping the Rockets will use one of their three No. 1 picks for Morris. "I think he's one of those guys who'll be a better NBA player."
Francis is back at Maryland this summer, working toward his degree in criminology. "It's been going great," said Francis, who was co-Rookie of the Year with the Bulls' Elton Brand in 2000. "When I left college, I made a promise to myself and my grandmother. Like basketball, it's right there for me. I'll finish next May. I'm going to take some Internet courses."And with the team we have, winning 45 games this year, I think we can get to 55 and do some things next year."

    A. Keep your mouth shut above Morris, Steve. Didn't you get the memo?
    B. Love the confidence. 55 wins indeed.
    C. Keep up the hard work for that degree!

Pau Gasol, who can play four positions, may not play next year. The 7-1 Gasol will have to develop more to play power forward or center. It would be terrific if we can get Gasol to play center or power forward and Terrence Morris to play small forward. I think these two will make nice duo.

We should forget about Gasol, we already have one skinny 7' forward in Langhi that shoots well,we don't need another.I'm kinda reluctant to pick up T. Mo in the 1st round. We should try him in the second, and if he's gone then we take someone else like Cacey Calvary ,Sean Lampley, or a big man.T. Mo can always sigh with us as a FA later cause he wants to play with Francis.

Hey, that Cavs trade doesn't sound to bad to me.
