If a player says something negatively about JVG, he will be traded or benched. Please do not tell us JVG is great. He is still good, let be this way.
of course i do, phil is no where near the negativity as JVG. besides Phil 9-1 in the finals JVG 0-1 in the finals.
Why do they keep saying the same things after they have stopped playing for him? Spree said JVG was the best coach he had played for after JVG was already working at TNT, and he played for Chaney, Adelman, Carlissimo, and Don Nelson. TMac said it, and there is no way he get's traded or benched. Face it, NBA players think JVG is a great coach. I'm sure all the keyboard jockeys around here know better though.
Dude, He had a question and he asked it. It sooo much better than people with 500 posts in 6 months. Which follow a particular pattern. 1. I don't like player X 2. Player X sucks 3. Give player Y the ball 4. Player Y sucks 5. Give Player X the ball 6. Flame 7. Flame 8. Flame 9. Flame etc. etc. etc. Mike
I am sorry, who gets Alston, Swift, Bogans, Brunson? Why once we lost one of the two stars, we looks like a #1 lottery team? Is it because TMAC and Yao's salaries are eating up all the space so that we can only get some scrub, or because somebody just did a horrible job at picking players and another horrible at adjusting towards injuries? So you are talking about injuries, injuries? All right, let's assume we have a healthy T-mac and Yao and we are in the playoff, are we gonna win the title by these two (with Alston shooting 0-11)? Trying to imagine healthy Tmac and Yao with the other scrubs encounter the Pistons, I only see win 1 or 2 out of the 7. That concludes.
okay im sorry, jvg is not one of the worst coaches ever. compared to t-macs old coaches, and spree's old coaches (especially P.J. Carlismo), JVG is GREAT. if t-mac got traded to lets say dallas, you dont think he'd say avery johnson is the best coach he'd ever played for? however compare JVG to some of the top coaches in the league, such as Phil Jackson, Greg Popavich, Mike D'ntoni, Flip Saunders, and etc, JVG is no where near their level. The Rockets are a team that need to be among the top dogs in the league and we need a bright coach that can help us shine to the top. JVG will work if ONLY we get the right players in our system. I want Luther to be coming off the bench next year to be our sixth man and i want a solid perimeter shooting guard. if we cant get that, then i want JVG out.
Imagine when t-mac and yao play together, these 'scrubs' will no longer have to create a shot for themselves. to be one of these 'scrubs' in the league, you gotta atleast have a shot. i'm sure some of these 'scrubs' wont be with us next year, but for the ones such as alston swift and bogans (maybe), hopefully by summers practice, t-mac and yao will both be healthy and these players will find their shot. however, we'll need a new solid shooting guard. I like Mike Miller
Since when D'Antoni became great coach? Because of the Suns recent 2 years good result? Yes, JVG was 0-1 in the finals. Did D'Antoni and Saunders go to finals before? Why are they all of a sudden great coaches? What's on D'Antoni's resume? 3 years with the Suns and half season with the Nuggets in 98'? He was fired at Nuggests for his great 0.280 coaching! The first year in the Suns, his great coaching led to a 0.344 result! Pop is good, very good, but a great coach? His first season was a tanking season! Did the Spurs win because of a certain player named Tim Duncan or Pop? OK, PJ is great, but he can only coach one team, should all the other 29 teams quit?!!! Man, get your argument straight, find some more facts than just riding on PJ's "greatness" with MJ, Pippen, Shaq and Kobe. If a coach had some good result this year, he's a great coach then? Applying that logic, Frank's first 13 wins would make him the greatest coach ever in all professional sports history, because that's a 100%! Applying that logic, Yao Ming would have been the greatest 3 pointer shooter in NBA history for his only 3 pointer!
If you think he is great, it is just your thinking. I was thinking he was great two years ago, not anymore right now. I just hoping he can do something good for Rox next year, but I do not know.
PJ Carlismio is/was a great coach. Sad that all everyone remembers is the Sprewell thing. Sprewell is a jerk. Look where he's at now! I remember PJ doing great things for Seton Hall. He was a builder of men in those days and a solid coach later with Portland etc
...Without Marbury, which is far better than JVG's record of 17% and declining without Tmac this year. He also got players he wanted in his second year, just like JVG, and produced far better results than JVG. not saying who is a great coach, and who is not, but if you look at numbers like that, who do you actually call a great coach?
I did say PJ is a great coach. Auerbach was a great coach. I don't consider D'Antoni a great coach at all. I don't consider JVG a great coach either. But greatness is rare, there is no saying that without a great coach you can't win. There are only one or two great ones in an era. You can't say that we don't have MJ or Dream, so we should just give up every single year. MJ wasn't the greatest one from day one. PJ wasn't a great coach from day one. Greatness is built on long term success. JVG has much more credentials than D'Antoni's two years with Nash - the MVP.
I believe JVG is good coach and can lead this team to the Champs! He just needs to find those players that can play his game. keep him for another year and see what happen. If we really want to get a new one: PJ is the only one!
Guys, it's NO doubt! next year coach - JVG bcoz he always can find a way out -- yup, i mean just for his employment.
That I actually can agree on. But maybe different people have different threashhold for greatness. Just like the use of "much more" when you say "JVG has much more credentials than D'Antoni's two years with Nash". How do you define "much more" there? No, you can't attribute everything to "MVP" there without acknowledging D'antoni's system allowed Nash to be MVP. After all, Nash wasn't MVP in Dallas, was he?
That "much more" is simply a result of 8 winning seasons vs. 2 winning seasons. For example, person A entered the States 6 months ago, with a clean bank record. Person B entered the States 3 years ago, without any bad credits. B's credits in the banking system is "much higher" than person A, while person will get rejected for credit card left and right, person B will receive those pre-approved invitation every week.
Fans say such and such are great coaches. Players say such is the best coach. It all sounds the same with me. There is no academic standard there.
I see "more" credential just based on "longer tenure". I don't see "much more" threre? And nowadays, smart bankers use "projected credit-worthyness" in addition to "credit history".
