If the Rockets keep one or both of the 18 and 23, I see the Rockets taking a big man that can shoot and rebound. I haven't seen KJ, but reports have it that he doesn't shoot well. I like Murphy and Jason Collins.

Murphy just puts the ball thru the net. Shoots well from perimeter and has added some strength to his inside play. He also hits his Ft's. Draft Report is like Battier, but he's 6'11 and 245. He passes, gets the occasional block, and he BOARDS. If Rudy wants to attack the zone, he's the man. He may have trouble with the faster PFs in the West. He may be able to play center against weaker opponents.

Collins also is 6'11 and can shoot. Strong down low. He'd probably get more press if he played in the ACC. has had injury problems. Brother Jarron is also a possibility, but more likely later than 23rd.

Who are the other Big Men that can Shoot?

I like Woods at the #13, but he needs some meat and porobably be gone. I see Camby with a better shoot. Needs muscle to help rebound. I like woods at the 4. This would allow the rocks to put Cato or someone with some meat on Shaq and have Woods provide weakside help.

More big guys that can shoot-

    1. Pearl Washington- You can see him occasionally at the Post Oak Y. He is about the same weight as Barkley, and he is a pretty good shooter.

    2. John Wayne- He is 6'4", but can shoot a gun right out of your hand at a 100 paces. He would be particularly helpful in Philly, where we need a shooter of his caliber after the game.

    3. John Holmes- This dude is HUGE, and he can put your eye out from 3 point range.

    4. Jerry Nadler (D-NY)- aka "Big Face Man", Nadler makes Ted Kennedy look like Twiggy. He has been shooting his mouth off for years, though he seldom scores.

We don't need a big man who can shoot, we need one who can block shots and rebound. If we need a C who can shoot we can play Collier.

For crying out loud, what can Bullard, Collier, and Langhi do besides shooting? We don't need another shooting big man.

    Joe Joe,

I'm with you. The Rockets' offense has been almost entirely predicated on spacing. You gotta get the opponents' big guys away from the basket, and you can only do that with big guys who can shoot - esp. with zones allowed. I don't know college bball well enuff to say who out there can do this. Collins sounds like he can play center, so he sounds pretty good. I like Murphy, but do we have space at PF?

My fear is that without a big guy that can *board*, the Rockets will eventually end up being like the current Milwaukee Bucks, who live off perimeter play but have little or no interior skills. Of course, being able to shoot from outside would already put our guys ahead of the likes of Darvin Ham, Mark Pope, Scott Williams, and Jason Caffey, but you catch my drift.

On the other hand, the Bucks made it pretty far this year, so who am I to complain! [IMG]
