What team's pick will the Rockets try and acquire?

It's known that the Rockets want to move into single digits in the draft this year, but the question is how high do they have to go to assure themselves of the player they are targeting? I'm thinking no later than the 6th or 7th slot. If they were to get the 9th pick from Detroit, they would probably get a player they were very high on, but the real player they were targeting would likely have eluded them.

Please reply with what team's pick you think the Rockets would try and acquire, and or, what players would be involved in the trade to acquire that pick.

Well, I think if they manage to get anyone's pick, it would Vancouver's pick in the 6th spot... but if that happens, I think it will mostly be involving our own picks and the obligation to Van... few players will be involved.

Is it worth trading all 3 of our picks to get the 6th pick? I think it is, but only if the Rockets are sure they can get a quality player/starter thru free agency. If not, then they better be sure that the player they draft is able to step right in and start, or at least play quality minutes, because Shandon and Hakeem are gone.

I will have to go against the majority and say no. I really feel there are some quality players in this draft in the 1-3 positions. I just hate the idea of trading up for a HS kid, despite the success of KG and KB. The one HS kid I would gamble on with the 22nd pick is Cisse. Otherwise, I am looking at drafting the best players on the board with each pick. Don't get me wrong, I am also curious to see how this class of HSers pan out, just not at the expense of giving up three picks, which will only get us to #6. Bring on Jefferson, Cooke and Cisse.

If the rocks move up, look for Battier, Richardson, Woods to be the guys Rudy is after.

Richardson would be a real nice pick if he is there at #6.

if we get the 18th pick, we will trade 13, 18, & 22 to the grizz for #6 & #27. we would select battier, or gasol with the first. ken johnson with the second.

With 13, 18, and 23, I think the Rockets could trade up to #6 or maybe #4. It just might be possible to sucker the Bulls and coach Tim Floyd into believing that Cato still has untapped potential and that his old college coach can bring out of him. I know this would sound like a dream trade(getting rid of Cato and getting 4) but I think that it just may be possible.

4 and Brad Miller for Cato, 13, 18, 23 and Bryce Drew considerations

I think the Bulls just might go for that.

MJ will get Griffin at #1 and the Hawks should grab Battier at #3, so I would want either Curry or KB, whoever the Clippers didn't choose at #2, which would likely and hopefully be KB, my favorite guy in this draft.

If the Rockets did manage a trade for #4 with Chicago, then Griffin (#1), Brown (#2) and Battier (#3) would be gone. Diop would be the best choice at #4 unless someone can promise Curry (age 18) is going to grow at least two inches (break out the pituitary stimulus). Diop is already there and also is only 18 with just as much, dare I say it, potential.
