It actually could have taken shorter if my hard drive was faster!  :D But what I have done is usually save 5 to 10 albums at night to an external hard drive and save to the iTunes library. Then when I go to bed, I update to the iPod (seems like it always takes at least 3 hours to do 300 songs). I finished Beck last night along with The Who and I am hoping to finish the Smashing Pumpkins and then go on to ELP and Joni Mitchell. Oh and I only have 3 Miles albums and I still have like at least 30 to go! :D

He's releasing an album of Illinois outtakes in July.

I know, it's a bit much with this guy.

C'mon get on my level, Manny. It's always going up and down, but I'm currently at 4999 songs, 600+ artists, and 1123 albums. Actually I have more then that in the library, but I don't wanna go into that.... just a way I classify certain stuff.

I might make a more detailed list later. Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Coldplay, all their albums including Live 2003. Darkside of course, gotta hear that once a month. I'm really getting into the band Garbage lately - they are really underrated and appreciated, they're really good. I got all of their CD's now. I'm also kinda starting to get into The Vines, I might come around to them, too. T.I.'s CD "King" has got some tight tracks on it. I'm startin' to appreciate his lyrics more, better then most of the rappers out there. I gotta say, though, I probably liked his last CD, "Urban Legend" better. I'll make a list later.

those interested in world pop music should check this out. my friend just let me borrow a few of these disks and its some pretty amazing stuff.

as far as i know, these world traveler types just go around to all these different countries and record different music they hear on the fm radios (baghdad, morocco, cambodia, sumantra, ect) and basically create mix tapes of their listening experiences. they even have the dj's between songs and some commercials. gives you a great representation of the fm radio experience in all these different countries. whole disks sound like someone flipping around the dial for 45 minutes or so. its kind of a musical anthropology project i guess.

all the cd's run the gammut from traditional to pop to psychedellic to soul to hip hop, all filtered through each cultures inherent styles.

my two favorites in here are the iraq one (choubi! choubi!) and radio phnom penh, which is cambodian and has some really great female vocalists and some nice psychedellic guitar work.

Getting here a little late, but yeah Ayumi Hamasaki is definitely the Britney Spears of Japan. I think my snobbish Japanese friends would kill me or at least thumb their noses up at me if they knew I had (gasp) an album or two on my iPod. There's a lot of that kind of music in Japanese Pop.

Anyway, here's my current rotation or heaviest played in the iPod.

Arcade Fire - Funeral (just recently got it and love the album but can't stand any of the songs with the female as the lead though)
    Talib Kweli - Quality
    2Pac - Greatest Hits
Death Cab for Cutie - You can play these songs with chords
Beach Boys - Pet Sounds (another recent pick-up, yes I know it is very old and a classic - liking it a lot and kicking myself for not listening to it earlier)
    random U2 bootlegs
and some Japanese pop/rock acts (heaviest: Remioromen, Mr. Children, not that I expect too many people here to be listening to this)

man thats weird, cos everywhere i read mentions how she should have had more songs to sing. i think 'haiti' is an amazing song. check out some of their live songs on youtube. also they have an EP, a live album and a covers album on the internet.

Yeah I know some people like her singing, but it reminds me a little of Bjork for some reason especially the last song. "Haiti" is not as bad. I actually enjoy Bjork at times, but that singing style kind of annoys me. I guess her singing style rubs me in the wrong way compared to the rest of the album. You never know though. If I listen to it enough times, maybe it will grow on me. I have to check out their other stuff.

Ummm, Hi. I love Children of Bodom. They are seriously incredible. Good call!! Do you also like Wintersun? They're in the same vein as CoB except more along the lines of Viking metal. Amazing...

Cool, I'm a big Morrissey fan as well.. Have you heard any of his new tracks? The ones I've heard sound pretty sweet.

Are you a big Interpol fan by any chance?

    Morph Cat - Donald Fagen
On An Island - David Gilmour

(both are good but not really anything different from their old stuff)

Live At Leeds - The Who
Live At Leeds - Bob Marley and The Wailers
Bloomfield and Granvenites - Labor of Love (1969 blues)

If you forgot to fill your prozac prescription, just listen to On An Island and At War With the Mystics back to back...zzzzzzzzzz

I got their latest cd when it came up but to be honest, i haven't given it enough play time to really have a strong feeling on it... i think i was in the midst of a pearl jam kick at the time and wasn't listenign too much else...

i'll be on a similar kick on may 2nd.........

i am checking out the other bands you listed on iTunes right now.. making some purchases.. i love iTunes.... combined with Sirius... it's great
