definitely racism. who is the most overrated player voted, just wondering. My guess is some non-black player, possibly international. Cause there are so many black guys in the league. Spike Lee called Larry Bird the most overrated player.
Actually, teh most overated player is probably Vince Carter. Its not racism, its the fact that as soon as Yao came to the NBA, everyone went crazy over him and he even got a ****in all star selection. If you get an allstar selection after 13 and 8 stats, people are gonna say you are overated. Also, if you retake that poll, i bet he wont be on that list. It has nothing to do with racism or anything, it is the fact that Yao is one of the most famous players in teh world and he has no need to earn it.
Only 4 player in the entire league that averages more then 20+pts and 10+RB a game...that includes Yao. A> Shawn Marion- 21.5pts, 12.1RB, 1.8AST, 1.78BLK. B> Kevin Garnett- 21.9pts, 12.7RB, 4.1AST, 1.41BLK. C> Yao Ming- 22.5pts, 10.2RB, 1.5AST, 1.70BLK D> Elton Brand- 25.1pts, 10.0RB, 2.7AST, 2.58BLK. Overrated?
why dont u guys always think yao has a revenge mind? As I know, he just realised that he should do something to assume the responsibility in rox , the same like he had done in China BBall Team!
Did yall hear Kerr was saying Camby was the best center in the West before his injury, and not for injury he could have been the best center in the West for whole season. I am really tired of it. These idiots cant have both ways. when Yao compared to Shaq, they say even though Yao has better stats, Yao is not at Shaq's level because he is not as dominant. In Camby's case, they say Camby is better because his defensive stats are better even though Camby is not half as dominant as Yao. I am not sure if it's racism, but I am pretty sure there is bias.
I think it would be easier to figure out some of the players that think Yao is overrated, because players have been more upfront with their thoughts about Yao throughout the years. However, it would be much more interesting to see who voted Marbury as the most overrated. Other than Jason Kidd and Kurt Thomas, I don't know many players that have overtly said bad things about Marbury. Stuart

Just curious, but what makes you believe that? Some people/critics believes Yao is better then Shaq now... with Yao constant improvements and Shaq slowly on the decline I wouldn't be in a hurry to make such a statement.
I doubt Shaq voted for Yao as overrated. He's been very complimentary about Yao after they actually got a chance to play against each other. No doubt Shaq still thinks he's better than Yao, but that's just his pride talking. It doesn't mean that he's pulling the overrated card on Yao. I remember Shaq saying a lot of good things about Yao, such as how he can't get under Yao's skin like he could with guys like Ewing or Robinson. And stuff about how he respects Yao because he plays him clean without cheating or trying to beat him up with cheap shots. I also remember a rumor on this board about how Shaq told T-mac that Yao would be the best guy to team up with because he's the real deal.

I am sorry for the confusion, I said, and I'me sure every basketball fan will agree, that Shaq is the best center in the League in the current period and since Hakeem and others retired.. he has been the most dominant center in the NBA for the last 6 years (since Dream retired).. and I know that Yao is progressing and he is a great, dominant center.. he wont be better than Shaq in the coming 2 years (the last years of Shaq's career).. if Shaq stays more than 2 years (maybe 3 or 4), I am pretty sure that Yao will be as good as him or maybe even better!!.. now I dont know what part of my post you didnot get but that's the fact... Shaq is experienced and is one of the best of all time.. Yao has been in the League for only 4 years and look what he has been able to do.. I really think that when Yao reaches Oneal's experience, he will probably be better than him..
hey man, did I say that ?.. please dont assume that I am thinking that way.. I have absolute faith in Yao and I really like the way the dude plays .. I believe that his name will be on the same list of those of the greatest centers, but Shaq is still Shaq.. Yao is great, but Shaq has been the most dominant center for the last 6 years and he still is.. with Yao's new development, he got really close to Shaq's level and he is almost as good as him..but again.. Shaq is Shaq and you cant really compare the two because Yao is in his prime and Shaq is going down hill in the end of his career..
what's wrong with you people ??? so if Yao improved in the last 40 games since the toe injury ( and dont get me wrong , I am so happy for him and for the team), Y'all just forget everything that Shaq has done.. y'all forgot who Shaq is ???? Shaq has a great experience and the only guy who could stop him is Hakeem (the best complete player in NBA history in my view).. now you and other "people/critics" say that Yao is better than Shaq ? .. that's just crazy.. dont forget that Shaq had a couple of big injuries ( especially his ankle) and he is not in shape.. but see that's not the point, the reason why I said that Shaq is the greatest now is to show that Shaq doesn't need to hate on Yao or be Jealous because everybody gives Shaq his credit.. so stop going for details while the real goal is to get the main picture...
