Corey Brewer out of Florida? ESPN has him as high as late lottery.

I haven't watched any of Carney's games. Is he more consistent this year? I don't like what I see on Draftexpress that he is a very inconsistent guy and gives up after not making the first few shots. If he has improved on that this year then I think he is definitely worth the pick.

That profile is based on this year. He has been inconsistent this year.

Well in that case we shouldn't take him then! Not another inconsistent player!

By this logic, we shouldn't take LaMarcus Aldridge if he fell to us. He's been incredibly inconsistant this year. He's completely disappeared when put up against another quality big. Also Reddick and Morrison have been inconsistant towards the end of the year, so I guess they're out. Don't forget Rudy Gay, he must be out too.

Here are quotes from a scouting source on Brandon Roy and Rodney Carney. Which one sounds like a Van Gundy guy?

Strengths: Highlight reel waiting to happen ... One of the most athletic players in all of college basketball … Jump shot has improved ... Big upside… Long and lean … Very versatile… Great elevation on jumper which is nearly impossible to block… Confident… Good poise … Pesky defender … Blankets defenders with his long arms and quick feet… Anticipates well and plays the passing lanes for steals ... Really gets up and grabs rebounds … Excellent speed and quickness …

Strengths: Very cerebral player, makes excellent decisions. Understands the game ... Very polished, great experience with four years at Washington under his belt ... An excellent shooter who steps up in big situations. Hit a number of huge shots at the end of games this year ... Has worked hard on his outside shot which has improved each year ... Great competitor ... Excellent ball handler with the ability to create shots for himself and others ... His midrange game is relatively impressive and his range has really improved this year ... Really stepped up in his senior year assuming a leadership role and taking over as the go to player for the Huskies ... Has spent time at the point guard position this year, and played admirably ... Not afraid to take the ball inside. Utilizes the spin move in the paint well ... Good free throw shooter at 81% ... Has great composure and confidence. Never gets rattled ... Good one on one skills with the ability to shoot off the dribble and get by his man to the basket ...

And another thing. The Rocket's are in a unique position. They don't need a franchise guy. They already have that in Yao and McGrady. They need an athletic defender, who can keep McGrady off of the two guard so he won't wear down. Also someone who can have those occasional big games when Yao or McGrady are off. Carney, I my mind would be a perfect fit. It would mean that we wouldn't have a 6-2 Wesley on 6-5 and 6-6 shooting guards. Again I feel that Carney would fit our needs perfectly. Either him, or trade down a little and pick up a guy like Sheldon Williams.

Actually they both do.. and I'd prefer Roy.

On your Aldridge logic...can't compare really cause the logic that goes into drafting a big man is different, since skilled big men are much harder to come by.

I agree Roy is a good player, but he's more of a defensive liability at the 2 guard. This is why we lost the series to Dallas last year.

Roy is not a defensive liability. Obviously you don't know what you're talking about, it's one of his strengths.

    He's not short either:

They both don't. Carney is another player who will have a hard time understanding JVG's system. He's that dumb.

Weaknesses: Does everything very well but nothing out of this world ... On the small side. Lacks tremendous size and length at just 6-5 and average wing span ... A good athlete, but nothing extraordinary. Not a great leaper or thunderous dunker ... Lacks great body strength. His body is solid but not overpowering ... Foot speed and quickness is strong but wont stand out on the next level ... Defensively he is just average giving solid effort, but lacks the foot speed to be a lock down defender ...
Obviously you don't know your stuff. Also to call someone who you've never met dumb is just.......dumb.

Please explain how that's different from you only taking Jonathan Givony's word on everything draft related?
