    Off Topic:
What? Are you really Hawaiian? I left Hawaii after four years in December and I put up with more stupid basketball opinions than anyone should have to. Hawaiians had Sacramento pegged for the championship last year.. just for reference. Anyway, where were all the Oahu Rockets fans when I was screaming at D&B's and the Shack throughout the playoffs? I even started a thread on here last playoffs looking for Rockets fans to watch the game with. Anyway, it just sucks that I finally find out that there is someone in Hawaii that I haven't personally converted cheering for the Rockets and I am already gone.

Well, Ridnour is an upgrade over Wafer Rafer alston. thats the point were trying to make Rafer is an utter and complete bust. he is useless. he is a poor mans version of francis. trigger happy turnover prone guard. i seriously doubt he'll be here next season. the rockets will trade him for trash if the have to. he is not the answer.

actually, i happen to think that number 1: rafer is doing a fine job. number 2: ridnour wouldnt be an upgrade over rafer. he'd be a good backup.

Dude we don't need anything else from our PG except to bring the ball down the court pass it to Yao/T-Mac and stand open for J's which he will get if the other team even thinks of doubling Yao/T-Mac. Ridnour is more than capable of doing all those, plus he's got the pretty good D to go with it.

We've out or play maker in T-Mac, our go-to guy in Yao, we just need a couple shooters, a better PF, and I think we are seiously championship quality.

Hah, in the short time I've been on this board I think I've had two replies to my posts, and both of them were concerning my Hawaiian roots...

Anyway, completely Off-Topic, but considering I've made my thoughts on Wilcox known, I feel obliged...

Born and Raised on Oahu for 18 years, left for the University of Pennsylvania this past fall. Full Japanese, but really, you should know that race doesn't mean much in the Islands anyway, only where you're from and what high school you went to.

The Kings, huh? I know there's lots of California love, but everyone I know is a blind Lakers follower because of the training camps they have every year; pretty pissed off, 'cause Tex Winter visited my high school this year, and two years ago Phil Jackson cancelled on us!

Being a Houston Rockets fan is tough in the islands; one guy asked me last year as they were charging to the playoffs if Hakeem was still doing good, while another asked about Stevie Franchise...

You get to catch the Iolani Classic before you left? My alma mater certainly hosts a crazy tournament; I was so mad that I got back too late; they had Kevin Durant, Texas's star recruit playing; I had to console myself with visions of Rajon Rondo throwing alleys to Josh Smith two years ago, along with seeing Wayne Ellington and Gerald Henderson take on Tywon Lawson and Oak Hill here in Philly.

I suppose it's my destiny; to go to a college that most people think Joe Paterno coaches at, and to root for a basketball team that has little relevance outside of Texas.

Ah well. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Except a Rockets Championship.

I think the Sonics have higher regards for Ridnour than Watson. Ridnour will be part of the Sonics long term future. Rightfully so. He will be a star one day.

Wlicox is a little like SS. It's impossible to get him before we trade SS(or at least,JH).

I'm not going to climb on the Wilcox bandwagon. I want to be a pioneer...a visionary...a far forward looking NBA guru.

That's why I'm scanning the Blazers' roster now so that I can be the first to suggest we sign Pryzbilla...Better still...trade for Darius Miles. Actually, we can get Khryapa for spare parts...wait...isn't Steve Blake a P1S2 PG?

I'm preparing my thread early. Surely 1 of them will play well enough in the next game to warrant our interest.

Threads like this should remind people how excited clutch fans were when the Rockets acquired Stro from Memphis because of a spectacular dunk he had on Yao in one of the games last season.

If we signed or traded for everyone who dropped season highs on us, we'd have a lot of backups for our backups.

Miles? Seriously? That really surprised me coming from you. The guy has proven himself to be nothing but a b**** with a Rucker-only game. I can't figure out if your post was poking fun of the board for falling in love with players on other teams anytime we play them or not...

Pryzbilla would be nice to have but he's awfully limited, especially if he were to play any PF. He wants to get out of Portland because he's so sick of Miles and Randolph, though, so he could be open to joining a contender for the MLE.

I've always been intrigued by Wilcox. Built like a tank, but impossible to guage because he's been stuck behind Brand for so long. I know the knock on him has been that he can be hard to motivate and can slack on the boards, but unlike Swift, he's never been given the chance to show what he'd do with minutes.

Someone posted that Swift and Wilcox have similar numbers this year, which was a bit unfair. -->
    Wilcox (season) 7.8 and 5.0
    Swift (season) 8.9 and 4.6
    -digging deeper-
Wilcox (LAC) 13.7 mpg, 3.5 FGA, 4.5 ppg and 3.6 rpg
Wilcox (Sea) 29.5 mpg, 10.5 FGA, 14.8 ppg, and 7.9 rpg
Swift (Hou) 20.9 mpg, 7.0 FGA, 8.9 ppg, and 4.6 rpg

Big difference. Can't rule out the contract year red flag, though. Mark Blount's fleecing of Boston was amazing, and Jerome James similarly crushed the Knicks last year. Both were gangbusters a couple months before signing, and it can REALLY trick you. But....Wilcox never really had a chance to play starter minutes until now. Hard call. Seattle could really use a guy like him though, and jettison Danny WWF Fortson.

I knew this would come up while I was watching the game last nite. Wilcox is Dampier like in his motivation, if he could sustain that type of performace he wouldn't have been riding the bench in LA and wouldn't have gotten traded.

His match ups vs. us are perfect for him, just look at that game early in the season when he was still with the Clips
