Well IMHO, this is more than just an April Fool joke, if we take a look in Yao Ming and Ye Li's schedules for the summer. Ye Li is currently sidelined with her lagging injuries; even though she was still included into the national team for the World Championship in September, she did not attend the closed door training of the national team currently underway in China. In fact, the national team departed for Australia for training/exhibition games, and Ye Li was staying behind. The national team (i.e. the men's) will start its closed door training in May. According to what was reported in the Chinese websites, as disclosed by Erik Zhang, Yao Team's head, since the Rockets will probably be missing the playoff, Yao Ming will start his 5 ~ 6 weeks by middle of April, staying in Houston on his off-season recuperation/strength and conditioning training with Anthony Falsone, before leaving for China end May. The national team had a tight schedule in July and August for some tournaments in Europe (week of July 19), and early August (exhibition match with USA Dream 7 in Nanjing on August 7, FIBA 2nd Stankovic Continental Champion Cup in Nanjing from August 10 ~ 15, featuring China, Oceania champions Australia, South American title holders Brazil and the top three finalists of the European Championships - Greece, Germany and France) before travelling to Japan for the World Championship (August 19 ~ September 3). So the date June 18 seems to make sense for their wedding, as Ye Li with her injury, could have ample of time for the preparation of their wedding.
Well, maybe their children !!! If I'm not mistaken, both Yao Ming and Ye Li are lone child of their families. So they are allowed to have more than 1 child and not restricted by China's One Child Policy. If 2 children are both sons, then both for Rockets. If one son, and the other daughter, then one for Rockets, the other for Comets.
Sorry.....this could still be a rare photo of them together, not at Houston but in Athens. Ye Li was wearing the same T-shirt as the one she was wearing at the closing ceremony, and Yao Ming was still wearing his idendity badge.
at age of 26, i don't think yao is going to rush to get marry this summer, but i don't mind they start to give birth first ~
I actually think she's nice looking. Not incredible by any means, but she's got a kind face and looks cute when she's dolled up (ie. the picture of her holding the basketball). Plus, there's really no comparison for a chick that can play ball.
I do not know what standard you are using but from where I come from she is no where close to ugly. She may not be gorgeous but she is cute and over 6-3. If you are looking for girls over 6-3 your choice just narrowed down by about 99%.
with short hair she isnt pretty at all, with longer hair she not bad looking. and theres definately good looking 6-3 females, i think the captain our female volley ball team is 6-3.
Why would they want the stigma of a b*stard child? Marriage is supposed to come first before having children!
