    What do you guys think about the final destination of the 18th pick, given the way the lottery played out.

    Will the Rockets end up with it or not? What would you prefer to happen? Who would you like to see slide in at that position for us to take? etc.

    Orlando apparently wants to move up and would like to block our efforts to do the same by only releasing this pick if we are passing the pick to another team. Vancouver is willingly to take this pick and give it to Detroit as fulfillment of our obligation to them and to avoid giving their next year's pick to Detroit. I think we are hoping to get something out of our cooperation.

    Wouldn't Detroit turn around give the pick back to Houston?

    Phoenix -> Orlando -> Houston -> Memphis -> Detroit -> Houston.

    This draft might be too good for the Pistons to return us the 18. I think they have a couple more years to satisfy this.

    Think how weak next year's draft is shaping up to be... Jason Williams may not even be in it. His intention is to finish up at Duke.

    Richy Rich, Jason Williams plans on finishing school in 3 years (sociology). He'll be in the draft next year.

    achebe: I'm neither fish nor woman. It's RichieRich.

    What was in the papers here in NC is that Jason's intention was to stay 4 years.

    Where did you get the info about him graduating ahead of schedule, which of course doesn't necessarily mean the end of his Duke career?

    I think that it was a sportingnews rumor thing ("inside"??). If I see it again soon I'll post the link.

    I trust than Van and Houston will work something out so that the Grizzlies can pay Detroit with it. It would be a bad idea for Detroit to send it back to us. We'll probably get an extra pick in a later draft (I doubt this one).

    Why would Orlando Give the pick to Houston, lnowing Houston will either use it or give it to Vancouver who will give it to Detroit who would then Pitch it to Sac for the rights to Webber for a sign and trade! That will mess up Orlando's Chances Think about it! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    When I was Little I call in a local sports show and told them the Rockets should Trade Otis Thorpe for a Lottery Pick. They found me to be stupid.

    If Orlando takes the pick, they give it to the Rockets automatically. That is what I have heard, but I don't know why it would be automatic. Then the Rockets have a choice of keeping it or passing it on.
